He is on my roster bubble. If I keep him it will cost the spot that Pierre Thomas currently holds. Is his potential enough to pass over the right now value of Frenchie?
I'd say no, but Pierre Thomas isn't really worth a stash either. In redraft leagues I wouldn't be surprised if Pierre Thomas was available on waivers at some point next season. He might not even be the top back on a team that rarely runs it. You should keep Blackmon in hopes that he wises up.
three questions that will answer your question for you...
1. Do you only start 2 RBs and no flex??
2. Do you trust Jennings
3. Is this a rebuilding year??
If the answer is yes for all 3 questions I would keep Blackmon, If any answer is no, then I would keep Thomas...
nice short and sweet way to put my thoughts into a concise, logical solution Milk - even though I'd keep Thomas no matter what, then pray that he gets a lot of action early in the season and try to deal him. Even if he keeps signing extensions, it is apparent that the Saints FO does not see him as their lead dog RB of the future.
Unless I'm confoozing you with somebody else, this is the league where the top three rounds or something get thrown back, so Jennings would probably be a bench RB for you. If you draft two RBs at the top, the chances of Frenchie starting for you are very slim. I'd keep Blackmon, who would be a tremendous value when/if he's allowed back in - an every-week starter you can keep forever.
Blackmon would probably be your WR1 out of that group when he plays. Essentially it's a nice group of fantasy WR2s.
WRs being 25% of your whole team doesn't seem high at all unless you're doing IDP. In a 14-slot standard league four WRs would be 29%, and nobody would run with fewer than that.
