Some jackoff walked into my office and said he hadn't seen another so nicely redone. When I told him all the mechanicals were replaced, just to be friendly, and showed him the book of receipts, he asked how much. I spouted a high number and he got out his checkbook and wrote the check. I checked to see if it would clear and he drove her away...didn't even give him the box of shit at home that goes with it.

The feeling is much like when I would dump a girlfriend 'just because it was time.' It was time - but I'll miss the ol' girl.

Now, I'm all weepy n' shit. I don't even have a car to drive to work tomorrow! I'll have to get a ride from mummy...like a wee child. My balls are shrinking right now as I type.

I guess I'll rent something for a week while I look around. :L

Congrats. Rent a car for a week so you don't rush into something else.

Thanks. My bud Chico owns the Hertz rental. About 25 bucks a day for something decent.

What to buy for that long 4+- mile treck to work each day? Too many options.

Stupid garage isn't big enough and I don't have room to expand it. That would be perfect.

Too hard core. But I did look at some pretty nice DB9s and other cool shit online last night. The problem is I have a tendency to speed. If I get a fast car I'll end-up in driver's school, again.

I know. It was a mistake. My little girl won't even speak to me...she loved it.

Juice, I truly feel your pain. As you know, the Wagoneers are near the top of my list. I own two classics and a couple of other 4x4 specialty vehicles and have had the same, exact thing happen to me. Owned a big, custom 4x4 van (the one before the one I own now) and used to get asked all the time if it was for sale. One day a guy leaves his business card under the wiper with the note "call me and I'll write a check." Thought about it, called him, quoted an outrageous amount, he met me at the bank and wrote the damn check. The cash was nice but I had immediate regrets.

Now I'm trying to sell one and can't get a freakin nibble. An original '72 Cheyenne fresh from paint with original GM Rally wheels, a/c, 350, custom headers, etc.

When I was a kid back in the 70s (during the first Arab oil embargo), I went with my dad when he headed out to get a new car. He had been buying VW Beetles for years, but he was seriously thinking about going to something different. He and I did a lot of camping in the deserts of Southern Cal, Arizona and New Mexico, so I was hoping for something along the lines of a 4 wheel vehicle that would tie right in with our camping. We went to this one dealership and they had this great looking black Jeep Wagoneer. But, I completely fucked it up. I asked the salesman what kind of gas mileage it got, and he asked, "Up hill or down hill?". We eventually came home with another VW Beetle that day.

lol. It was kind of the perfect car for me. I only drive a few miles to the office each day. But the gate was the best. When you put the window and back gate down, it was just wide enough to fit a piece of plywood. You can't get that anymore from an SUV and it's really handy.

The other thing about the Waggy was all the parts were readily available, most still mfg. new and were really cheap. If something was getting shabby, you just went online and replaced it for nothing. It was all good.

My dad had one just like this in the 70s. It was good except my brother and I couldn't sit that close for long, on long trips to visits relatives n sech, without starting to injure each other.

I'd take that off your hand if I didn't need a back seat for the kiddies.

Yes, all men love Wagoneers. All heterosexual men anyway!

Well, the Giants avi (lost bet), hardcore Cubs fan. . . You know what they say about Wrigleyville and the gays. . .;)
