This team is like texas weather, it can change in the drop of a hat. We went from giving up tons of runs and hits and barely managing any runs, just a few days back, to back to back shutouts in which the offense looked pretty dominate. Be awesome if they could get a shutout tomorrow and make it 3 in a row. It's Perez so we got a shot.

Nothing like being a tad on the greedy side now is there? 3 SO in a row? How about a simple win; wouldn't that work?

Life sucked 3 days ago, and now it's Camp Granada all round.

Expectations can be a bitch. Love em too though. :yahoo:

And if 4 years younger.

It shocked me the Tigers gave Verlander - in spite of what he accomplished - that amount and over that length of time, and 2 years before they needed too. As much respect as I have for him, his arm has a lot of mileage on it, and it ain't gonna get any better.

I'm all for giving Yu a boat load of cash but he gets it all over the next 8 years. Meaning, he'll be about 35 when he's rich/famous and perhaps retired.

Detroit is developing a habit of giving some very questionable contracts.

How bout you eat some crow on Moreland. Funny how you're nowhere around when he comes up with a big hit.

Jury is still out on him, only 40 games into the season. I'll acknowledge that he's in a groove. Taking his position into consideration, I'd like to see more extra-base hits out of him. Most DH's are power hitters.

Great game (besides that horse shit by Rios in right). Lester on the mound tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what Wash does with the line-up. MM and Choice are both hitting the ball well. Wash left Mitch in there tonight against the lefty, and he drove it to left. I'm fine with whatever Wash decides on that one.

I like the guns hand jesture they're doing after they do something good. It reminds me of Willie Mays Hayes from Major league 2.

A buddy of mine in the area of Tigerville says the Domino Pizza old man has said the hell with financial responsibility. He's about 80 years old and wants to win a few more titles before he visits St Peter.

He seems to think, it's Katie-bar-the-door and I'll let the kids worry about cleaning up this mess when I'm gone, kind of attitude.

They are sure throwing some silly money around. I say, why the hell not? Can't take it with ya.

Unless you have kids you can leave it to.

Don't think you go wrong with either guy.

So if they do a deal like you guys were talking about. How do we absorb that cost? We are already at $109M for 2015 and we will need a catcher, right fielder, and maybe relief and starting pitching. Rios has an option but I think that will cost a chunk of change. $12-14M I think. May choice takes RF next season though.

I don't expect them too at all... just think it would be awesome if we did. I'd be just as happy for a win though.

His kids are part of the game as well.

You're not feeling sorry for these kids being handed fortunes and having to deal with it are ya? It's just a matter of baseball money, and we're talking billions coming in, a team worth 600 mil, and life ain't so tough.

Pick up Rios' option, trade him. Choice plays RF. Starting pitching actually in good shape with Darvish, Perez, Holland, Harrison, Martinez, Lewis, Tepesch, and Jackson. Beltre's contract will be up pretty soon too.

Lewis is a FA again next season but I presume we could get him back pretty cheap. I sort of assume that Tepesch is going to take his spot next season though, at least if he keeps up what he has been doing in the minors - I don't see how you could not give him a shot. Still gonna need some BP help as Frasor and Cotts will be FA. Could we just pass on the option instead or do you think his trade value benefits the team more.

And the catching situation isn't as dismal either. Soto may come back strong, Chirinos is better than we ever expected and frankly - know I'm gonna get killed on this - but JPA may be adequate; not great or even good, but adequate. Just don't expect so much.

You've got RF nailed 100%.

And let's not forget Martinez, Ross, either.

Considering what players who put up his average numbers are getting his trade value could net us something decent. Frasor will re-sign. Cotts, I dunno. Bullpens are easy to piece together.

Chirinos will be our main guy next season unless we sign someone else. Soto and JPA are on one year contracts.
