Thursday Night Games: Do You Like Them?

Well reports are saying that this years Thursday Night Football Games should be decent but what say you about them? Do you like them?

I always approve of an extra day of football outside of sunday.....They should bring back saturday games (after CFB season) also

Personally I do not like them since I have other things to do on a Thursday and I have set aside Sunday and Monday for them... Not to mention (but this will change, since CBS is stepping up) I don't have NFL Network

I like them. But then again I could watch football every day. It makes the week go by quicker when there are Thursday games. I still like to see the majority of games on Sunday though. Nothing like watching football on a Sunday for 11 hours straight.

Exactly and especially if you like CFB the TNF game make Sunday come by extremely fast because the only day you really have to survive is Friday because all of saturday you're watching CFB anyway

I'd rather they bring back Saturday games. I hate TNF.......week in and week out that game is usually one of the worst played games. I don't care who takes the field.

I don't think it's so much the matchups as more all we hear is "how tough it is to gameplan".......and what do they do? take out half the game planning time.

Other than usually featuring a poor matchup the worst thing about them is that it takes teams out of their routines. Tough to get ready for a Thursday night game after playing on Sunday. Maybe the league should only schedule teams coming off a bye to play on Thursdays.

At this point do teams really need to "prepare" for their opponent? I mean I get players change but in reality these teams already know how said opponents play and perform

Sloppy injury filled crap games. The NFL always prattles on about how much it cares about player safety then makes them play after a very short week just to squeeze out some extra ratings.

I usually have shit going on and don't watch Thursday night games anyway. Do away with them. Saturday (college), Sunday, and Monday are more than enough. I don't need a fourth day of football.

Hell, I would prefer if they kept the NFL at two games a week, added an extra bye week and extended the season. That way I wouldn't have to wait so long through the offseason and listen to sports guys talk about the predraft and schedule release like it was real sports news.

Don't like them because it's hard for both teams to bring their best with only 3 days of complete rest. Sunday vs. Monday only impacts 1 day, so teams still get 5 days of rest.

I would be fine with Saturday night (in fact would LOVE THIS) but Thursday night is kind of lame. I get BOTH teams only have 3 days full rest, but to me it puts both teams in an endurance test to see which is more physically gifted (will give nod to Seattle right now since they have a VERY young and athletic roster) and that to me is not always what football is about.

Exactly. Thursday night games are just a lousy product IMO. A bunch of guys still sore from Sunday.

There have been some legendary Monday Night games but Thursday? Nah.

I also agree the Thursday games are of poor quality. If they changed it so teams only play in them coming off byes, I'd have a much better opinion of TNF games. As it stands now, no I don't like them.

I always tell myself that I'm going to watch the TNF game, but I usually only make it through 2 quarters before turning the channel to something more entertaining. Unless of course its the Steelers.

Can I edit my statement. The fact that Seattle plays @SF AGAIN on TNF, I do not like that.

Then the fact they travel TO philly then home against SF. Theres nothing to like about that.
