Oh, the pain..... Super Bowls generate such joy for some, while ass-ripping others. I congratulate Seahawks fans for their victory. Aaarrgh.....it sucks to be the Super Bowl losers.

Having said all of that.....we'll be back! No team looks forward more to the next season than the team that lost the Super Bowl!

Not to brag, but Chicago had 2 million in the streets when our Hawks won.

And you have probably 5x the overall population in the region? Having 1m people show up in a town listed with a total population of 600k is kind of unique. They had a million people in the streets and also packed both Century Link Field and Safeco Field for the ceremony. There literally wasn't anywhere else to put more people.

I thought it said 700K?

Anyway, I didn't mean for it to be a dick measuring contest. Just to point out that it is insane to think about 2 million people all within the same parameters at once.

And if the Cubs or Bears ever win it, it'll be about 4 or 5 million

You know how those crowd estimates go. We heard 700k and 1m. The reality is there were more people than space in down town Seattle today. There were people not able to even make it to those streets and I'm understanding that many still haven't made it home yet because travel for that many people in and out of the city is difficult, especially if they are all taking the ferry system.

They simply couldn't have fit more in the city unless they closed off even more of it.

I don't know Seattle's population, but I know it isn't over 1 million.

So 700k+ is a damn nice turnout

As I said, Seattle's population is listed around 600k so fitting 700k on a weekday over a rather small stretch of downtown is pretty incredible.

Agreed

I remember when the Hawks won the Cup in '10 and then again last season, God damn, it felt great.

That Seahawks parade felt damn good eh? Trust me, the 2nd one will feel even better.

It was an amazing experience. I have never seen so many people in my life. I walked from south of Safeco Field to the stadiums and around there for a while trying to find somewhere that I would get a decent view (this was around 11am). I eventually made it to around the intersection of 3rd and Washington and stood there for a while. I was taking a risk because I couldn't get service and couldn't pull up the route on my phone so I was unaware if they could come by where I was standing (nor could anyone else due to so many people using their phones in the area). Some guy told me they were going to come right through where we were so I stood there. Luckily I had an amazing view, some friends of mine told me they were like 10-20 rows deep and couldn't even get close to the float but I was right in the first row and got a high five from Bobby Wagner as he leaned over his vehicle (not sure what it was they were riding on).

As you could see from the pictures I posted earlier, I was really close and had a great time. After they passed through it was kind of fun because everyone started walking behind it and it turned into one giant mosh pit going forward where everyone was moving but packed in so tight that there was no way you could fall, dangerous obviously but good fun.

I wish I could've got into the stadium for the rally later but either way I had a blast and it was the memory of a lifetime. I've got a ton of photos on my phone but I'm too lazy to upload them, plus there are probably better ones online.

It was amazing. It was a ton of fun and a perfect way to cap off the Superbowl victory. Pictures and videos really don't describe it, there was an electricity in the air and man... I've never seen so many people in my life. It was incredible, memory of a lifetime.

I've told myself that if the Seahawks make the Superbowl again I will definitely go since it will be cheaper than New York was. The only thing that could top that parade is going to a Superbowl. That parade was a momentous event in Seattle history and Seattle sports history.

Honestly, I'd rather watch the Super Bowl from the comforts of my home.

And yes, definitely a huge day in Seattle sports history

I'd rather watch any game from the comforts of my home to be honest with you. But watching from your couch doesn't give you the memories of actually being at the event. I want to be able to tell my children and grand children that I was there at the Superbowl, the most watched television event in U.S. history.

There is just something about actually being there that is so much better and makes it so much more vivid and real that photos and videos cannot capture.

KOMO posted a picture on Facebook that someone took from fairly high up looking down on the crowd and if the pic from the players' perspective didn't already give you an indication of how many people showed up, this pic will. Even this pic doesn't do it justice, but it gives you a better idea of the scope of the crowd. The pic comes from Jay Dotson Photography and it's a freaking awesome shot. Hope this works:

This is what I say to those who scoff at attending games. Nothing like being there. Then, you have a better sense of it all when you are watching on TV.

Couldn't be happier for you folks. I was in Seattle in '07 and was offering condolences to Hawks fans over the zebra fucking they had just endured. So great to see such a wonderful city rewarded like that. Thanks for the review~

LOL. Some tard showed up in full 9er gear. Asking to get his ass kicked, but the classy Seahawk fans just treated him like a leapor and moved away from him where ever he walked.

I have to admit, that was fucking awesome, man. Those people were so loud, happy and thankful.

Congrats, for real.

Thanks bro. Trophy is in the NFCW where it belongs and many more this decade will end up in this div. :suds:
