One National League executive pursuing Masahiro Tanaka believes the New York Yankees will bid more money than other team in their quest to land the Japanese pitching star, The New York Times reports.

The Mets just opted out of Johan's contract this year. It could also be the Yankees realizing they're taking a gamble and if he winds up being a total bust they can bail on him.
