I don't think that Snyder orders Shanahan who to play. There has been lot of speculation that Shanahan decided to bench Griffin in an attempt to get himself fired, presumably to collect his salary for next year without having to coach. According to this piece, however, Shanahan claims that he consulted Snyder about possibly benching Griffin before making the final decision to do so and that Snyder agreed to the benching. Shanahan claims that consultation indicates that he is not trying to get fired.

As far as the "Cousin Era" goes, according to both the piece linked above and what I've seen and heard elsewhere, that might last only three weeks, depending on whether he plays well enough that Washington could trade him for something more valuable than he is to them as Griffin's backup, since Griffin's long-term job is supposedly secure.

Let griffin go. I guarantee he is more successful over his career than the redskins and Shanahan combined over the same stretch.

They aren't that dumb, though. Shanahan hopefully gets fired but snyder's not dumb enough to dump RG3.

Now, really, who on this board could possibly know the answer to this question. However, my eye tells me Griffin isn't moving like he did last season, which leads me to believe, he has either re injured his leg or his mind is getting into the way. Either way, if Washington isn't going anyplace he needs a break. RGIII did the documentary on the kid with cancer during the pre season. I noticed in that film he was walking with a limp around the kid.


I really am not sure he should have played this year so early.
