If we 're looking at career, Martin Brodeur needs to be mentioned, don't you think?

If we 're looking at this season, half the starters & some backups need to be brought up, even a couple AHLers.

And no offense to Quick either (as I didn't mind to slight him), I didn't know if we were looking at current season numbers versus career numbers and my list was kinda a mixture of current season/career.

Another guy worth mentioning, since I haven't seen his name pop up in this thread, is Jimmy Howard. He doesn't have the sizzle of a Rask or Lundqvist, but a very, very solid goalie since he's been in the league.

The amount of names being thrown around kind if justifies the concern I would have for dropping 8.5 for 7. Just saying....

To be honest, I don't think $8.5 million for 7 years would be justified even if there were no names mentioned. Only goalie in NHL history deserving of that kind of money would be Hasek during his prime.

Exactly and the other thing is that this sets the bar for other goalies as comparables when contract time comes around.

Might as well mention MAF. More wins this season, more shutouts this season, better career playoff record, more trips to the SCF, & actually won the Cup.

Now watch every goalie mentioned on this thread ask for $8.5 million per year once their contracts are up.

Also, when jstew said earlier about the Canadian dollar dropping shouldn't be disregarded, the seven Canadian teams are responsible for approximately 1/3 of league revenue and that dollar that was basically hovering around 97-98 cents US for the last several months is down below 94 cents US now.

I would take payment in bitcoins but not for 7 years. I fully expect the bitcoin market to collapse by then.

There seems to be an edge building here fellas. It's easy to solve, every country will carry seven goalies and they will all be required to play at least one game.

Now, Who starts first?

Finland would win under that scenario.
