More defense? Maybe in the blowout wins where a Division I school is playing a Division III school and the final score is 70-7. Yes there is more offense in the NFL now than there was 20 years ago but it is nowhere near what the college game has. This is why the Broncos just set their all-time record at 52 points where college football many of the Division I programs seem to have half their games against scrub teams where they score this many points.
Throw in the NFL has some of the highest turnover in top teams where college football about the same 10 schools or so seem to remain great for years upon years. I would rather not know who is going to be the top BCS Schools at the end of the year 4 months in advance.
college games have always been high scoring games because of the talent disparity, when i say more defense i mean a more level playing filed between offense and defense. The rules in the NCAA don't favor the offense any where near the way they do in the NFL.
