From preseason basketball which is the unofficial start to the basketball season. I am itching for some basketball right now. The first month of the off season was interesting but the last 2 months been dead.

Who and what are you guys looking forward to seeing this year?

Among other things, seeing how well the rookies on my Celtics play together and finding out if Rajon Rondo will be able to recover from an injury that could be career-ending.

If he can get back to even half of what he used to be the Cs could be scary late in the season.

Also looking forward to having something other than football to watch on Sundays. Hockey, basketball, and soccer are all preferable to football in my book.

^^^THIS^^^

I do watch my Dodgers on tues., wed., and Friday, but I'd rather watch hoops than beisbol!!

As for the season, in some ways I'm more excited for this season than I have been for one in awhile!! Seems weird given what the Lakers have had vs. what they have now!!

However, I want to see what Kobe has left after the injury and I want to see what these young guys that have been signed to 1 year deals do with them, especially in D'Antoni's offense!!

This team isn't winning any titles this year, but I think they'll be a lot of fun to watch and could surprise some folks!!

Watching the Heat go for a run at a 4th straight Finals appearance in an improved Eastern conference.

Definitely glad football is back though.

@trojanfan12: Sorry about the Trojans last Saturday. Don't worry, I think Pat Haden will fire Kiffin before the end of the season.

Calling out BOTSLAYER - You want to add the Gator to your list of teams. Well check the final score.....need a reminder just look at the signature. Enjoy!

hahaha yea they lost :D

They are looking shakier and shakier these last few years. Funny how Miami is still allowed to play despite the number of NCAA violations they have been being investigated for...for 2 years. Death Penalty?

1) Looking forward to the CBS Refugee Fantasy League.
2) Watching Rajon Rondo emerge as Boston's bona fide leader and seeing where he'll lead us.
3) Following Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett's bid to unseat Miami and win a championship.
4) Watching the Lakers crumble from internal bleeding and fade into sweet oblivion.
5) Derrick Rose's return.
6) The Piston's experiment.
7) Doc Rivers at the helm in LA.
8) Golden State's ascension to the top half of the Western Conference.
9) Dwight Howard's griping about not having a point guard or a bench.
10) Brooklyn over LAC in the finals.
I want to see how Adam Silver does as David Stern's replacement to. The league hasn't had a new commissioner since 84.

Word.

Now that you mention the Pistons I want to watch them. I have so much basketball to watch this year!!!

In order of interest of games to watch:

Heat
Pistons
Thunder
Brooklyn
Warriors
Clippers
Rockets

Due to the Eastern playoffs I am sick of watching the Bulls and Pacers. I might tune into a Celtics game here or there if Rondo does some amazing things, and if teams suck I will stop watching them.

I'm looking forward to the Pistons return to (semi)relevance. I like the moves that they made this offseason and really am hoping with the lineup they have that Smith and Jennings realize they don't need to jack up bad shots. I am concerned about the talk of trading Monroe since he and Drummond have worked well together, but we'll have to wait and see how the season develops and how Smith and the rookie Mitchell play at the PF too.

But what I am most looking forward to is the return of the Pistons to the post season.

No worries!! As much as I love my Trojans, I don't let what 18-21 year olds do on a football field bother me much!! I hope Haden doesn't fire Kiffin before the end of the season. That means an interim coach and interim coaches are no different than "lame duck" coaches, imo!! Let him finish the season, look at how the season went and then make a decision!!

Keep in mind where the allegations are coming from - a convicted felon who engineered the 2nd largest Ponzi scheme in US history (over $900 million stolen from investors). All Shapiro had was photos and receipts when he supposedly took recruits/former Canes out to clubs, restaurants, etc. Not saying none of it's true, but to say he was embellishing is definitely a fair assumption.

The Death Penalty is off the table given the screw up by the NCAA. The total amount written in the NOA (Notice of Allegations) is actually less than what USC got for Reggie Bush alone. The fact that the NCAA screwed up royally coupled with Miami forgoing two bowl games and a conference title game along with 10 scholarships (Miami is currently playing with 75 scholly players this season) means that additional penalties could be kept at a minimum.

I think they will be in the hunt. 6-8 in the east will be up for grabs between 4 teams IMO. I think Cleveland, Washington, Detroit, and Atlanta will be fighting for those spots.

That is good to hear, college football is better when those 3 florida teams are relevant and we do not have to discuss sending a mountain west team to BCS games.

Detroit and Cleveland are going back to the playoffs imo.

I don't know about Cleveland getting in. A lot of "ifs", at least this year.

true, I do not think they need bynum to play to get in the playoffs though. If they can keep their other guys healthy I think they should sneak in there.

With how badly the NCAA has screwed up the Miami investigation, if they add so much as a $5.00 fine to what Miami has already self-imposed, Miami should drag them into court and sue the crap out of them!!

Still criminal what they did to USC.

I agree!! Not much that can be done at this point so I take pleasure in watching them screw up every investigation since USC!! Watching how the public perception of them has changed has been pretty entertaining!!

I sometimes wish Pat Haden wasn't such an honorable man. He said when he took over that USC would not be suing the NCAA because he just wanted to get this behind us asap!!

I can't help but wonder if the lawyer in him thinks: "Darn, I wish I hadn't said that because we would crush the NCAA in court"!!
