Another safe and boring pick for the Halftime show. I mean at least it's not Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.

I respect Bruno Mars as an artist, but I just don't like him for this type of show. If not Bruno...who would you guys have preferred to perform at the half time show?

My fruity little nephew thinks Bruno Mars is just dreamy.

I don't.

BRUNO MARS???? Who do they think their NFL audience is, 16 year old girls???

The day they have Justin Bieber perform halftime at the Super Bowl, is the day that we all stop watching Superbowl halftime shows.

Pop music today is absolutely horrible. He probably is the most listenable of all pop artists though.

I just am surprised because of all the pop "stars", he probably is the least known.

Black Sabbath.

Rage Against The Machine's Brad Wilk has reinvigorated those old farts.

Just as long as his light show doesn't disrupt the game, I could care less

Ehh... They could've done a lot worse (and they have lately).

Bruce Springsteen was atrocious. The Who - bleh. Tom Petty - yaaaaaaaawn.

I was hoping for Kanye. It wouldn't have been "good" but it would have been entertaining just for the shear "wtf is going on"-ness.

Bruno is a safe pick though. Plenty of songs to choose from and he appears to a diverse set of age groups

A start would be to have no one over 70 yrs old. That would be a start.

I never understood why they never gave Metallica a shot at it. They're pretty mainstream by now, and they can put on a hell of a live show.

It's probably going to suck just like the last few years. Honestly I'd rather watch Bob Saget to go up there and prolapse his colon in front of a mirror.

They're probably scared of a prospect like metallica promising to play one of their "radio-friendly" and/or black album songs (recognizable songs a la enter sandman), only to get out there and rock out to "fight fire with fire" or "blackened", lol!

I guess my only thought is....do I really really have to think about it? If I have the option, I think I would rather not.

I'd go with "disposable heroes" myself.

but this one would be hard to get a real performing band out there. It's likely to be 20 degrees or colder and I bet it's hard to play a real instrument with cold hands.

Mars can sing, not my type of music, but he can sing at least. I don't watch the halftime show anyway. I did for Prince, because he's as talented as they get. Not always my type of music, but it's hard to find a guy more gifted in terms of music. I'm sick of the made up and promoted crap we get stuffed in our faces these days.

Anway, I think Metallica would make a great halftime show. They have enough know songs and they give it all on stage. They could come out for 20 minutes and rock and then back to football. But I think the NFL has found their formula. Get the teeny bops and younger crowd to watch the halftime show and get excited for it, and hopefully capture them as fans of the NFL. The rest of us are going to watch the game anyway already. They know we use halftime to go take a piss anyway.
