This current era of "music" will be long gone and forgotten while most/all of the much superior music from the past will endure and live on for all posterity.

you realize Bruno Mars is kind of an old school artist right yoga?

Old-school charm fuels the music of Bruno Mars in his freshly minted sophomore effort, “Unorthodox Jukebox.”

Fail !!
Stop trying to convincing yourself, micro.

Tho I do like some of Alicia Keys work....but it's few and far between.

*The Mars choice was silly for the SB halftime show....it's okay to admit to it, no one will disagree.

I don't listen to the current era of music. The point I'm making is the names that are being thrown around aren't physically able to play their tunes anymore, Getting someone in there that can exert themselves for more than 2 minutes without going into cardiac arrest makes for a better show. Who the hell wants 20 back-up musicians because the original artists can't even play their instruments or hit the high notes.

The Superbowl halftime show has been a joke for a very long time now. For a long time after the Janet Jackson wardrobe fiasco, they just kept showing old acts and were pretty conservative with it. Then they started putting on garbage like The Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, and now this Bruno Mars bs. The only reason they have these clowns doing the halftime shows these days is to further draw in the viewers, often female, who generally aren't really football fans and watch the Superbowl to see stuff like overrated commercials. It has absolutely nothing to do with appeasing the typical NFL fans.

It really is dissapointing. The halftime show could be so good, but they sellout every year. They could have done something like brought in the recently reunited Black Sabbath, who made a surpringly good album just this year. There are so many options, but instead, they bring in this overrated hack who sings over dramatic songs in a whiny voice about white knighting stupid broads. I quit watching the Black Eyed Peas halftime show midway through their first song because it was just embarassing to watch, and only watched that awful Beyonce halftime show because I was watching the game at my in-laws place and didn't have much of a choice. Needless to say, I'm turning the channel and using the halftime show strictly as a run to the fridge for beer this year.

Black Sabbath.

Rage Against The Machine's Brad Wilk has reinvigorated those old farts.

Brad Wilk did a very good job on their new album, but you do realize that the success/quality of that album had nothing to do with him beyond his ability to drum as he was told to on the album in studio? He was strictly a sessions drummer and was given zero creative input on any songs of the album. He was following direct guidelines from the guitarist, Toni Iommi, and bassist Geezer Butler on how to play. Again, he did a great job of doing as he was told on that album, but the creative style of the album had nothing to do with him beyond properly doing as Iommi and Butler instructed him.

That's friggin laughable.

YOU??.......attempting to educate anyone,or giving tips on "some culture" ?????

I need about as much culture ideas, about as much as you needing a pet elephant in your backyard.

Are you sure you know what you're talking about...or who you're talking to here??

I'll put my appreciation and knowledge of "culture" in any category imaginable up against yours any day of the week.

Stop it......there are many artists twice his age or older who'd blow him out of the water with little to no effort.

If they were going to pick a modern pop act, Bruno Mars is as good as they could have picked. I just wish they didn't pick a modern pop act.

again.....stop trying to convince yourself that bruno mars was a good choice......

I'm quite aware of the multitude of new artists...trust me....some are great...some not so much, and many many more worse or not even worth mentioning...

you haven't made a convincing argument that he was a bad choice, but that's business as usual for you.

How's about I tell ya I based it on the songs I've heard him do?...is that good enough for ya, raverette?

Besides....you're already convinced he's all that and a side of onion rings.

At ease.

Stand down.

You need to pick a better "artist" to argue over.

BRUNO MARS???? Who do they think their NFL audience is, 16 year old girls???

The day they have Justin Bieber perform halftime at the Super Bowl, is the day that we all stop watching Superbowl halftime shows.

You mean people still watch that crap?
