Yes coming froma Jets fan. At least the JEts have the ability to have a top 10 defense and win some games. The Jaguars and Raiders both have terrible defenses and terrible offenses. The Jets will be better than the 2-14 team people are predicting.

The jets could have a decent defense...just no ability to score points, your offense could easily be worse than the raiders.

Damn, I guess I am the only Raider fan gonna stand up for my team.

Nice blanket thrown over Raider fans, no Sad Diego fans are drug dealers gang members armpit hairs or wtf ever? GTFO, I have been to Raider games in LA, Oakland, Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa and never had a gang fight break out, not even close. It takes 2 to tango, and if you want trouble throw some alcohol on the fire and see what starts up. Last time I saw the YouTube video, it looked like there were just as many
9er fans looking for trouble in the 'Stick parking lot as anybody. I know plenty of peaceful Raider fans, just sayin.

The DJ Hayden story is just beginning, btw he was cleared by all 32 team doctors, and while I admit it was a headscratcher, I have been through worse in the past 10 years..

While we are on the subject of ineptitude, baby blue down south hasn't been a model of efficiency by any stretch of the imagination buddy, funny things just didn't work out with Turkey-neck Turner and AJ Lord of No Rings Smith now did they? Looks like starting all over down there too.

While I am at it, how many Lombardi's is your team sporting?

Peace Out. :2cents:

I dont expect the raiders to be good this year, and in fact I think you should hope they are not because there is so much they stand to gain next off season. I do think that for the first time in many years the raiders are finally headed in the right direction. I think they did the best thing they could do for themselves this past off season and that it will pay off big time in the future. I absolutely expect the raiders to become a very strong team long before other teams currently at the bottom like the chargers, jets, jaguars.

Thanks man, I wasn't trying to say we would be first division this year, and it is possible we should suck for Clowney. I believe we are headed in the right direction and I will grant some patience to the FO, after the last 10 years, it's the least I can do.

Sure there are exceptions, but I would bet my house, cars, and 401k that the Raiders have by far the largest fanbase of the prison population. I'm not sure you could deny it. Thugs cheer for the Raiders.

I never claimed my team was great, and I know they haven't won a title. 16 of the last 19 against the Raiders will definitely get you looking 25+ years back.

:bullshit:

Well my 401k took a pretty big hit a few years back and I don't have an exact estimate on prison population allegiances, but just because a thug element sports Raider gear doesn't qualify them as fans in my book, so just for internet shits and giggles and the sake of argument I'll take that bet.

Like I said, I have been to Raider games in quite a few towns, maybe the thug element in Sad Diego just can't get past the baby blue lightning bolt, but I got proof that your blanket statement is suspect at the very least, tailgating at SunLife Stadium in Miami was about as peaceful an event as you could find anywhere, and there was plenty of Black and Silver represented, South Beach on Saturday night before the game was nothing but a party, husbands and wives, fathers and sons, just cool young people out for a good time, hell I was probably as hot-headed as any of them after my team melted the fuck down.

Obviously the tension on the West Coast is more intense than out here, but there are plenty of Raider fans, and I can tell you definitely that very few were convicted felons or gang members as I observed it. Thugs come in all colors and due to their success I'll bet you a bunch of them are wearing Baltimore colors right now, so I'll start with that black and purple, but if you want to go up to the East Bay and pick a fight maybe you can win the bet.

Btw, you hold the note on that house of yours?

:smokin:

No love lost for the Raiders.

Raiders could've had their WR corps be Megatron & Larry Fitzgerald. :laugh3:
Well, they chose Robert Gallery > Fitz because you need protection before your QB can get the ball to the WR's. He had a perfect 9.0 Draft Prospect Rating, the highest for any offensive lineman. Very understandable pick. Especially for a limited running QB in Kerry Collins at the time.

With Calvin Johnson, the only QB's Oakland had was an washed up Culpepper, Josh McCown and Andrew Walter. Russell looked very promising and was really a no brainer to take him over CJ because they still didn't have a QB worth a shit to get CJ the ball if they took him.

Guarantee Lions would have taken Russell > CJ if they had the chance cause they needed a QB also.

That's because they had inept management too.

If I knew they were bad picks (I called Gallery the most overrated OL prospect in years & Russell a vastly overrated QB prospect) then I'm sure a lot of other GMs knew it. Al Davis had no idea what he was doing in those later years.

Doubtful. The Raiders have a noodle arm QB and no WRs and a bad OL. Darren McFadden is always injured.

The Jets offense will be in noway worse than last season... Last season we had a QB with a 66 QB rating. We had the most predictable offense in football. Our best WR and TE got injured. Our starting RB was the worst in the league.

The biggest thing is that the Jets now have an actual OC. Marty has consistently coached top 10 offenses. His offense won't be as predictable. adding him alone will bring better QB production because Sparano didn't run a QB friendly offense, Marty does. Our run plays won't just be runs up the middle anymore either.

Our weapons are solid if we get decent QB play. We have a good OL too.

RB-Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, and Mike Goodson. Ivory is a mystery, but the guy looks like he can be a good if he stays healthy. Powell has looked good all training camp and looked great vs the Jaguars. Goodson, whenever he shows up is a explosive player. Ivory and GOodson were actually 1 and 2 in the elusiveness rating. If they stay healthy, we upgraded our backfield. Greene was terrible, dead last in broken tackles. Ivory and Goodson can break tackles and make people miss.

WR-Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley, Clyde Gates, Braylon Edwards, Ryan Spadola.

Santonio Holmes says hes ready to play, people who saw him run routes recently said he looked great. He should be back very soon. Stephen Hill looks much improved over last year. Clyde Gates looks like a different player. Jeremy Kerley is good. Edwards is solid. Spadola may be a UDFA gem, hes had a strong training camp and looked good in preseason.

TE-Jeff Cumberland, Kellen Winslow, Konrad Rueland.

Cumberland keeps improving, hes getting better and better as a blocker. And hes big and fast as a receiver. Kellen Winslow looks good, if they can keep him healthy he'll be a good pickup.

Its all about the QB. Sanchez is bad, but even if he starts I don't see him being as bad as last year. Geno Smith is a unknown rookie, could go either way.

Riiiiiiiiight ....I'm sure that's exactly what you called after the draft. Such a drafting Guru like yourself shouldn't be wasting your time on a message board and be working for the NFL.

I wouldn't lie just so that my anonymous screen name on the internet would look good. I've been posting about the draft & the 49ers for over 10 years, and a lot of the people whom I told Gallery & Russell were vastly overrated (I used the terminology 'most overrated tackle prospect in years') post on the 49ers' SportsHoopla board. So if I kept changing my story, there would be plenty of people to call me out on it.

I've gotten a lot wrong like anyone else has (including the NFL's best GMs), but I was right about those 2. I thought it was nuts to pass on those kinds of rare WR prospects. It would've been like passing on Julio Jones or AJ Green for E.J. Manuel or Terron Armstead. It was nuts, but Al Davis was nuts (as far as football in concerned), so it makes perfect sense.

...although Manuel is a far better QB prospect than Russell was; Russell was more like Brock Osweiler.

yes, but just barely:laugh3:. btw, place is STILL a huge tourist trap...

Only because the tourists walking around the city think its some live free screening of a new sci-fi version of Pee Wee Hermans big top circus, or some bastardized sequel to Tinkerbell "The great fairy rescue"

Yes..... the genius in you said that before the draft , Gallery who had a perfect 9.0 Draft Prospect Rating, the highest for any offensive lineman..... was overrated. Glad I have my hip waders on right now avoiding the bullshit.

Hey look...you're using 2 proven NFL WR's for your point against Manuel who wasn't being talked about the top overall pick.

Russel on the other hand: John Clayton of ESPN stated that Russell's workouts at the 2007 NFL Combine that Russell's arm strength and size impressed several teams, and predicted that it would "be hard to pass up on Russell at #1."[

Brock Osweiler wasn't even in the same galaxy as Gallery heading into the draft.

Your bullshit reeks, chico.

So just because Mel Kiper Jr. had a high rating for Gallery means that I did too? 2007 is recent enough that most of the regulars on the SportsHoopla board remember me saying how stupid picking Russell was. And about half of 'em agreed with me. I was working on a sports radio show as an intern in 2007, and I told 'em all the Raiders would rue the day they left Calvin Johnson on the board.

I haven't hit on every tackle. I liked Alex Barron & Winston Justice for example. But I railed against the hype Robert Gallery [/B got and that's God's honest truth. You shouldn't go around calling people liars if you don't know them and have no evidence to support such a claim.
