Perhaps I am naive, but I just don't think there is any or much use of ped's. The NBA has had considerably stiffer rules and testing over the years that the MLB did not have. I think most are forgetting that the MLB was forced to implement rules and testing by Congress who threatened to remove their exemptions if they didn't clean it up. I have no doubt that the testing is not 100% full proof and can be beat, but I just don't think that the performance using drugs would benefit them like it does in the MLB and their bodies get beat up so much that the drugs would add insult to injury down the road and they know.

I could be wrong, but I would need more proof before I believe and considering that the ones calling out the players for peds and slinging mud are the same ones that told me they believe in the strong use of pot and support the action of driving under the influence - well they just don't carry any credibility in my book. I have no other choice but to dismiss everything they say as heresy

I am not sure how you could be surprised if any superstar is using no matter what they say.

That being said I have little doubt that Stern etc would cover this stuff up if it came to be true to protect the NBA logo and it's players who make all that money for them.

That was actually quite common in the off season on the ESPN board. With no games and nothing to talk about the conversation every summer would hit an all time new low. I still remember the lowest point one year when after the Lakers had won their last two championships, that several posters tried to argue that it was possible for the Lakers to win all 82 games of the regular season.

They really are comparing apples and oranges in an ignorant way. ped's do benefit some players in certain sports. Lance Armstrong is a classic example because their is no talent in riding a bicycle. Hell I can still jump on my bicycle, and ride it without holding onto the handle bars and go around courners. PED's in his case built up his muscles and gave him a distinct advantage. Baseball has some talent, but it's really about having the power to hit the ball harder and further assuming that you can get your timing down pat. The ped's then assist the hitter with more power to hit the ball.

In the NBA, however the PED's might bulk up a player and give him the ability to knock players down like Michael Jordan used to do, and outmuscle them, but the PED's is not going to give Kobe, Lebron or any other player the ability or talent to shoot straighter and more accurately. Therefore the PED'S has very little benefit to players in the NBA and I expect that was the mentality of why the NBA hasn't moved faster on HGH. The fact remains, however that the NBA has some pretty decent testing procedures and are watching the players pretty good. Even in the MLB without controls the McGwires, Sosa's, A Rods, Bonds got caught, so I think it's even less likely they get away without getting caught in the NBA
