In Beltre we trust.
I was lukewarm about Cruz returning, but now I hope he comes back just so people that are pissed at him won't be happy.
lol please tell me what legal treatments would have helped him replace 40 pounds?
I don't think you fully understand what he is saying. He took the steroids to gain back the weight after being cured from the stomach virus.
This guy gets it. They are out to make examples of people. Any resistance will be faced with worse penalties.I would not appeal anything.
It seems to me that MLB has some pretty hardcore evidence if they convinced Braun to accept a suspension without putting up a fight.'
Plus, if you do appeal, I have a feeling MLB will come after you even harder and try to nail you even worse. It's kind of like a DA holding all the cards offering you a plea bargain. Accept your 50 games and go sit down.
Or take your chances and lose a year or more.
So anyone else feel the game would be better served by expanding replay and disciplining the umpires more than they are by "cleaning up the game"?
I would put anything into my body to help it recover, but I don't care about what a bunch of mealy mouthed people say about "purity of the game."i understand that. but it's irresponsible of him to use steroids to recover when other options are available, and it puts your career and teammates in danger of reaping the consequences of his poor judgement. (which he admitted) So, yes, i do understand fully!
Take 45 seconds to make sure the right call is made. You already spend 45 seconds having the opposing manager argue...get rid of the arguments and go right to replay.I do think umpires should have a "score card." If replay shows consistent inaccurate calls, they get a certain score and are replaced. But I am not an advocate for wide spread replays. Balls and strikes, no I am not for using replay for that. Reviewing HRs as we do now, yes keep that. Fair or foul line calls add that and plays at the plate.
I am for expanding it to plays made at 1B, 2B, 3B and "trapped" balls in the OF but there needs to be a limit like in the NFL. Maybe all scoring plays like in the NFL need to be reviewed and a manager gets 1 other call in the categories mentioned above. To expand it any further would slow down an already slow sport.

I wonder if they are going to put an asterisk * next to our AL pennants. Right now our 25 got to stay focused & kick a** on those angels. Nelly we'll miss you and I for one will welcome him back. Colon-oscopy came back & helped his a's.
You and I clearly have different approaches to ethics. I don't follow rules because they are rules.im not "mealy mouthed" and i'm not "preaching purity of the game" either. i'm preaching if you know it's illegal then dont do it! simple enough!

Rangers' Nelson Cruz accepts 50-game suspension
Article says Rangers were "blindsided" by Cruz' decision. Not sure what to make of that.

ALL people make poor decisions sometimes... they learn from it and move on.
Not as much scrutiny as you would think obviously...it took an act of congress to get Selig interested in doing anything about them.agreed. but, with as much scrutiny as PED's are given. that's very dumb stll for cruz to not have already "learned" from past players
