A couple of different ones- the Eric Wright one, Jamaal Anderson one, and one other that will be right around those two in the list, but can't remember right now...

I keep hearing nothing but positive reports on WR Terrance Austin, his stock is definitely trending upwards.

Patrick Edwards is coming dangerously close to following his script from last year- big time stand-out in OTAs and early in training camp, but disappeared in the preseason games. I know we're only one game in so far, but he was a non-factor on offense against the Jets. If he doesn't bounce back over the next two or three preseason games the coaches will chalk him up to the "practice warrior" category, imo...

Edwards did not impress me at all in the game. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Austin was the guy that stuck out to me. Even Durham looked better than Edwards (and Thomas).

Its only 1 game so we will see, but its good to know that I am not in alone in my assessment.

I thought Thomas did quite a bit better than I had expected him to. I didn't think he'd get any looks at all, really...

I agree Thomas did do a bit better than he has been, but not better than Austin. Austin looked much more like the veteran.

My pants are rising the closer we get to Thursday. By the time the Lions play the Pats at Ford Field week 3 in the pre-season Superbowl, I'm going to be in full Lions King of the Jungle heat mode.

Burleson looked horrible out there. No separation at all. Even on the one play that he had about 6 inches of separation, he still dropped a ball he should've caught. Looks like CJ and Bush may be our only playmakers this year, unless the rest decide it's time to step up.

Risers:
1. Nick Fairley (looks like Pro-Bowl caliber player thus far)
2. David Akers (looks to have regained his pre-injury form)
3. Calvin Johnson (by not being on the field to be a part of the turd the team laid last night)
4. The guys who are injured (everyone else was so bad you had to move up the depth chart because you werent out there playing like shit with everyone else)

Fallers:
1. Louis Delmas (since I think you will only play one game this season that means Don fucking Carey will be and he straight up blows
2. Every WR on the team other than CJ
3. Theo Riddick (how slow is this guy? he was a gunner on the punt return TD that got called back. He was about 15 yards short of the ball when the returner caught it and was engaged by a Browns player. He was still at the exact same spot when the returner blew past him at full speed. He isnt better than Bell at anything and if he's that putrid on ST's its time to say goodbye.)
4. The entire offensive line. (Everyone got bigger and stronger and they still cant move anyone off the line.)
5. Don Carey (he was so awful he gets mentioned twice on list)
6. Ron Bartell (if he is the starter opposite Houston this year look out)
7. Don Carey (see #5, a third mention is warrented)
8. Every LB on the team
9. Butterfingers Pettigrew (still cant figure out how the ball can actually go between your hands with those gloves. they are like fly paper on the ball)
10. Leshoure (looks horrible, and slow, not faster this year)
11. Principal (because he's masquerading as someone else on the board and probably thinks that everybody, including the moderators dont know. 555 Guess what assclown, we all do.
12. Scott Linehan (I can only pray that you were trying to keep it as boring and bland as possible. If you call games like that this year its going to be unwatchable)
13. I am tired of writing this list, so everybody else on the team goes here because it was absolutely brutal to watch. I couldnt wait all day for that game and somehow fell asleep early in the second half.

You must add the predictable "beginning of the game reverse" play that Linehan loves to use. It's falling faster than TP's boxers in a gay club.

2. Absolutely not. Terrence Austin still looked very good and I will be pissed if he does not make this team since like you said, the rest of the WRs looked mediocre at best.

12. I hope it was just because we did not want to show them anything in preseason. We at least accomplished that. We showed nothing.

14. You forgot Don Carey

I want to know where TP is to cuss everyone out for talking smack about players on the Lions team? I continue to read comments being made by others that I made months ago and it made me "mr. negative".

I do find it somewhat satisfying though to see others eating crow and posting without blinders on, while finally admitting to the same faults that have been brought up for much of the offseason.

So the high point of your life is when others agree that your supposed favorite team sucks donkey balls?:L

I went back and watched the 2nd half of the Browns game yesterday and here is what I saw:

--I am comfortable with Shaun Hill as our backup. He may not be a gunslinger, or have the strongest arm, but he can methodically move us downfield and knows the playbook extremely well. If we're in the playoff hunt and Stafford goes down, I would still consider us in the hunt.

--Matt Willis needs to make the team. He hasn't been overly impressive, but he's consistent and he hangs on to the ball. He had a really nice game last week, and had 3 catches this week. I can see him making it over Fuller.

--Theo Riddick looked better than what I have read on here. He had the one drop last week(chalk it up to nerves?) but he looked good this week. He hit the holes with speed and power and showed his shiftiness in the receiving game. He is the type of RB we need as a 4th. Miller may be lightning quick in the return game, but I haven't seen any of him in the backfield to judge whether he should make it or not.

--Bentley wasn't as bad as people said either. He isn't Deion Sanders by any means, but I thought he played solid. He had a couple nice pass deflections and isn't afraid to stick his body in there to make tackles. We need that in our secondary.

You said shit about everything and everyone over and over and over again before the players were even on the field for a new season. You were popping off your opinion, which as always you categorically argued with everyone wasn't actually an opinion, it was a fact. That's the reason you have the screen name that you have.

Now the players are on the field and thus far there are some glaring weaknesses in certain areas. Do you want a fucking medal because some of them were what you thought might be issues several months ago? You WERE "Mr. Negative" and that was universally regarded by everyone. Yet up to a certain point where it even became to much for me I defended your right to be negative. I think that's more than fair coming off a 4-12 season.

If you want to talk about the team issues then put up a post discussing those points, not one trying to blow your own horn and bait an arguement. :horn: Your post reeks of BSL level maturity with the "I told you so" tone. If you want to re engage a discussion with TP on a specific issue then do it directly, not with some pussy ass weak post to the open board wondering where he is. Are you really so dense as to think he's ducking you? It wasn't long ago you weren't on for several days as well. Grow up.

Who is eating crow? That's a serious question. Who other than you pushed their opinion so far as an absolute fact that they are now eating crow? I must have missed that. Please give me the names of those posters so I can get caught up. A simple post with that list will suffice. I'll wait for it patiently. Thanks.

Hmmmmm -- I must be missing something. Where in my post do you hear me say anything about the "high point of my life" or anything even remotely close to that? Also -- where in my post do you hear me saying anything about the Lions "sucking donkey balls"?

Personally -- I don't even waste my time watching preseason football, as teams are doing nothing more than trying to stay healthy, while getting a look at borderline guys who may or may not make the team.

I just find it funny how many of the issues I brought up about the team this offseason on here and was lambasted for doing so, are now the exact same issues people are complaining about right now.

To those who think the sky is falling and the Lions season is doomed -- take a deep breath. These games mean absolutely nothing. The Lions were undefeated in the preseason, the year they went on to go 0-16 in the regular season. With so many new starters -- it is going to take time for them to gel.
