Looks like Chase Minnifiled is having a good camp this is the 4th time I heard something bout him covering well, the sky is the limit for this kid I hope he makes it all the way

I think we end up carrying six CBs, but only 4 Safety's. Merriweather, Doughty, Thomas and rambo. Sux for gomes, but it is what it is.

It would be great if he lives up to the potential. This team is in need of DB help and he would certainly be a diamond in the rough. I have he doesn't have a degenerative knee condition like Kelly and those were all isolated incidences.

and it cost us nothing to get him , no draft picks and a low salary if he can help the the scouting staff gets a feather in their cap

I think the redskins should consider it a victory (as should Chase) if he even makes the team. You can never have enough talented corners, and Minnifield faces some stiff competition just based on sheer numbers:

CB - Hall, Wilson, Biggers, Amerson, Crawford
S - Gomes, Merriweather, Doughty, Rambo, Thomas

Go back and look at the draft and scouting reports on Minnifield. It was NEVER about if he was skilled enough. The only real question coming in was health. Before the injury he was rated as a 2nd round, possibly late first round talent. The injury is the only reason he went undrafted. If healthy, you can call this a Redskins got lucky situation.

Minnifield has talent, the pedigree and the skill. Micro fracture injuries are pot luck to recover from. But if he made that full recovery he is a top notch talent. And having a guy with that kind of injury pan out would help offset the amount given up in the Griffin trade. Not that Griffin alone isn't making it worth it to begin with. But hitting on Minnifield would be huge.

If he pans out and Amerson doesn't bust... That's the future of our secondary.

Here's hoping that he can stay healthy......If he does...he will make the team....Like said before...he was a low 1st/2nd round talent......and to get that kind of help on the cheap!!!!! BONUS!!!! I am very impressed with our scouting dept and what they have accomplished since Mike got here......We took a chance on a guy with injury concerns, and MAYBE we get lucky!!!! About time the Skins get a couple lucky breaks!!! we have sure had our share of bad breaks in talent aquisition (but vinney and danny are to blame for that!!!)

If Crawford looses his PR duties he will be cut and Minnifield will take his place on the roster. If Crawford keeps his PR duties I think we release Gomes. I think the max is 10 for DB's.

I'd be surprised if Crawford and Minnifield both don't make it. Next year, Wilson and Hall are free agents. So it makes sense for them to keep as many of the younger talent as possible this year at CB.
