Everyone seems to love to hit Ian, I think he has the most HBP, then again, he won't exactly move out of the way if he's going to get a base. Not too long ago he was hit in the upper arm and when I saw the replay, I thought "what the hell Ian, how were you sure that wasn't going to hit you higher?"

He literally didn't even flinch, part of the reason I love the guy, he's a 100% gamer

Gentry same way with the HBP, doesn't move out of the way
Could be interesting, they hit Martin or someone else then we'll get, possibly a warning (no retaliation) and won't be able to throw back, which is fine with me....no free bases for the Angels.

Carlos Quentin gets hit more than anyone I know, unless you were strictly speaking about the Rangers, then yes Kinsler has been hit more than anyone in Rangers history

Carlos Quentin led the majors with 17 HBP in only 86 games last year

I guess it depends on how obvious it may or may not be

Without intending to ignite a firestorm ... is it good baseball to be using both AJ and Soto every night without a third catcher on the roster?

If it turns out that the current setup is winning games ... it might be wise to swap out someone on the roster for Chirinos to protect the current lineup.

I know who I would pick ... but doubt that happens. So does TEX management just cross its fingers and hope all works out ... or do they move E. Beltre back to AAA for the duration of Soto's hot streak?

Agreed, if Profar isn't going to play pretty much everyday, then he needs to be in AAA IMO

Bench Murphy, play Beltre, at least for a few games

And bring up Chirinos as a 3rd catcher, if you're going to play AJ and Soto at the same time

Sadly, as long as Murphy is an option Wash is going to keep starting more often than not

Not even worth it. Martin for good reason was thrilled with his liner. If LAA objects they have only their bullpen to blame for giving TEX the opportunity.

Reflecting on the ABs just prior to Martin's ... Murphy almost grounded into a DP which would have meant 2 outs when Martin came up. LAA might have approached that AB very differently and even if they hadn't ... the count on Martin was 1-2 when he ended the game. That means only one strike from getting out of the jam. Just sayin ... and wondering again for two nights in a row why Murphy was not bunting.

we were warned not to retaliate, and I think Wash protested that warning

Yea ... the thing is Profar is serving as the UIF dummy right now. If he's not going to get regular PT then might be wise to get Garcia back up and have him sit on the bench.

But to make room for Chirinos to be that 3rd catcher ... somebody has to go.

Yeah it happens, but the bench clearing was probably the reason for the warnings. If nelly had taken his base without incident there would've been no warnings issued till Texas retaliated.
