especially when you consider he volume of games lebron has played in the 18 months. lockout shortened season, finals. olympics. full season, finals. Ok with the guy resting a little bit. Not like we are devoid of talent on the wings anyway. It'll give guys like Paul George a chance to step up

Exactly!! Can't say for certain, but it is my opinion that part of the reason that the Lakers didn't make it out of the 2nd round after their last title was the wear and tear on Kobe and Pau from playing on their respective Olympic teams. I believe it to be particularly true for Pau who had less help on Spain's Olympic team and therefore had to play more than Kobe did!!

Where was Kobe to help "save the USA team" back in 2004 when we won the Bronze?

I believe Kobe was busy defending himself against that Colorado whore around that time.

This is really not a big deal people. Lebron has played in three Olympics already. As a Lakers fan, I don't want to see our star player wear himself out in the summer of 2016 anyway:yahoo:

Yeah, this is a lame reason to hate on LeBron.

If you gonna hate on him, at least have a good reason like....

he picks his boogers on the bench.

This makes perfect sense...Lebron already has 2 bronze medals without Kobe, and since Kobe won't play in 2016 Lebron can't risk winning a third Bronze medals...

...also even more importantly, Lebron has been named by a biogenisis employee as a steroid user. There's no way Lebron can risk testing positive in 2016...It would be career suicide.

I don't like the guy as a person and wouldn't want him as a teammate, but this is a foolish thing to judge him on.

Seriously, he gives so many legit reasons to hate him, why waste time on bullshit?

LeBron is always about himself and nothing will change that. He doesnt care about regular people and there everyday lives. Hell he doesnt care to know who is real father is and getting his drug addict mother help. He cares about himself and his boys thats all.

At least his parents Rent siblings like yours. Cause you turned out Mega Mondo. Ya retard.

Liar. You're just a hater cause LeBron is two time back to back champ. Woop woop. And Kobe sucks. He wouldn't even help his team in the last playoffs.

Because he was arrested and charged with r*pe. With the trial still pending, he was not allowed to leave the country.

Not taking shots, but I think it's ridiculous that this is even a subject. The guy has helped the USA win two Gold medals. If he wants to let someone like Paul George take his spot, then why not?

Sounds like he wants to concentrate on chasing titles and not wasting energy on team USA. Not surprised really, but he should play.

They don't allow bad floppers in the Olympics. That means Lebron is out. :laugh3:

Why should he? What is there left to accomplish in the Olympics? The ultimate goal of the Olympics to win gold and he did not twice. The Olympics come around once every 4 years. No need for guys like LBJ & Melo to be there for a 4th time when those 2 slots could go to someone young who never played for his country.

He has already played in two international Olympics and will be over 30 by the time the next one comes around. We have already seen to players who played in the international Olympics have problems with injuries, and I am convinced that is a lot of stress on the bodies as they get older. Let the younger guys represent our country. I am fine with that

Considering he's played 3 already, I'd say he should get out before the wear and tear gets to his body. Personally, I didn't want Kobe to play that year they had the "redeem team", and I was against Kobe AND Pau playing the last year. That wear and tear gets to older players. Let Durant, Love, Irving etc. take it over and get some fresh faces in there.
