It's the sign of the times man. Jerry passed, and a new regime has taken over. These posters are something I'm not even mad at anymore because I had to realize who was in charge now. Jerry Buss would've never done this. Didn't even consider doing this for KOBE in 04. This is the Lakers. You are supposed to make your pitch, BY MAKING YOUR PITCH....not with some stupid billboards. It basically comes down to this, you either keep D'antoni or Dwight. The Lakers have set a precendent of choosing the player everytime and I'd say it's worked out pretty well so far. Dump Dantoni or watch Dwight walk out high and dry.

I agree, players will always want to play for the Lakers. The mystique, championship culture, etc. is very enticing. It's a shame that Jim Buss seems to have shattered in a matter of a couple seasons what his father has built to last for decades. I to this day don't understand how Jeanie Buss wasn't put in charge over the team. Jim Buss seems to run the team based on bias and emotion about personnel (see Phil Jackson), Jeanie seems to be the more professional Buss. I hate the Lakers about as much as Lakers fan detest the Heat, but I still like to see them well as the NBA is better off.

You know what. With the childish mindset that Dwight has, the way LA is handling it might be the right way to go about it. You know Dwight has to love these things put up for him and it might just be enough for him to re-sign.

Sadly, you are probably right!! I heard on the radio the day after the posters went up that Dwight likes them!!

Howard please sign somewhere else.

No matter how good or bad Howard is a s a basketball player, you cannot keep one whose loyalty is suspect. And one who destroys chemistry. If it takes Kobe and the Lakers to beg for Howard to stay then Howard indeed is not a good fit. Even if Howard stays, that very act eliminates the incentive to work hard and fulfill expectations.

If the Lakers believe that Dantoni's style is the way to bring Showtime back then it probably is best to acquire players that fit the mold and forget about Howard. If Kobe continues to have some decision making power in the organization, it be best he sits down with the coach and GM and start targeting players who would fit that style.

If for some reason Howard stays because of keeping his image clean, then it be best for the Lakers to get a coach such as Phil Jackson or even Hollins to make full use of Howard.

Serious question, if D12 did sign with the LA Sparks, or any WNBA team they would instantly win every game right?

I have heard that female professional tennis players regularly get beat by average college men? Or that average college basketball teams would beat WNBA teams?

Not trying to be sexist towards women just in general they are slighter of figure and shorter.

So if we put a dominant D12 who has a huge advantage where they are weakest that should ensure that team to roll?

And obviously the edge for an AI player or Drose would be much less vs a really large person.

They'd foul him every time he touched the ball and he'd still shoot just 55% from the FT line.

hahaha yea I thought about that, surely some of those would have to be and one opportunities?

What about a prime Dirk? 7' but only 245, still would be the biggest in the league.

Average height in the WNBA is 5' 6" vs the NBA at 6' 7". The tallest WNBA player to ever play was 7' 2" Margo Dydek, may she rest in dominant shot blocking peace. After that there are several 6' 8" players. The average weight is 167 pounds and their heaviest being 240.

Dwight at 6' 11" would be the tallest and heaviest (with 10% BF or less) in the WNBA.

Dwight is already more premadonna than any woman in the WNBA so maybe if he grows his hair out...we should be talking multiple rings right?

Brittany Griner would dominate him!!

He'd be Candace Parkers' backup!!

Just to deviate off course a bit.....I can only imagine the shit show that will go on in LA when Lebron opts out in 2014. This board will definitely get interesting this time next season.

Highly doubt it. Opting out wont be at all unexpected.
James won't want or need any drama this next go round.
I think before FA period ever sets in, he will make his intentions clear.
