No start by Garza today. He did a BP session yesterday and Monday is the next likely time he would pitch. I figure Cubs will try and do the deal by Sunday night so the winner can have Garza for Monday night games after he travels to new team location. I believe I read this on ESPN somewhere but I do not have a link to it.

That's what I figured. They'll push him back as far as possible.

What about peavy is so impressive to you? Is it his 4.30 ERA, his 36.7% gb percentage, the fact that he's pitched more than 112 innings once since 2009, or his increasing hr/9?

So, one place, the rumor mill says the deal for Garza hit a snag and other teams may be back in play.

Then, another says Texas and Chicago are just going over medical reports.

You don't know what "source" to believe.

Boston scratched Lester for Sunday game against NYY. ESPN suggests the scratch is just general wear and tear deal (similar to the YU deal I guess). But that prolly means Boston will have an elevated interest in Garza and other pitchers just in case Lester has bigger issues that develop.

If the Dodgers say he's out, that's probably who the Cubs are dealing with. The Cubs have no reason to rush anything.

My perfect scenario has always been to sign Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez and trade for Rios. Technically, Stanton would be my top choice, and always has been, but the Rangers have completely screwed up Profars value.

He had a 2.97 ERA before his last 2 starts when he was hurt! He is a #2 pitcher and garza is a #3 peavy put up a 3.38 ERA last year. I bet you peavy will come on strong in the second half, oh he is under control next year I think
