The Sherman dude is remarkably intelligent. Seems to me, therefore, he would not be taking large risks nor need to put himself in a situation where he would have "so much at stake".

IMO, he got off on a technicality.
I do believe that there is a league-wide problem with these substances.
I do not believe there are 31 teams of do-gooders,... and then those cheaters in Seattle.
The player's only meeting was perhaps the end of it. At least imaginably it would have been for me. Peer's advice/warning over authorities' for this group would seem most effective.

Wasn't smart enough to avoid getting a positive drug test.

I do agree that every team has guys taking stuff they aren't supposed to.

With that said it's probably fair to say that the NFL isn't testing the Seahawks any more than another team so the question is if the Seahawks has more cheaters than the other teams or are do they just have guys really bad at cheating?

If we assume for a moment that all that were positive did indeed take Adderall, then what you have is a very bad case of it here. That substance stays in your system for less than a full week. Some drugs can remain in your system for a month, but not Adderall. So for 5+ guys to come up dirty on it meant they all took it just days before their testing. The odds they rarely take it and just got unlucky is slim. You have a bunch of fools taking something they believe they can beat on a test because they will just not take it when they think a test might be coming up who have all been stupid enough to not cut back when they needed to.

Or another way to look at it is we have no idea how many in the league use it at some point because it is fairly easy to use now and then and not get caught. It is probably in far more use than we know.

Which is why all these claims of Adderall dubious.

Not just the Seahawks but the odds of all these guys around the NFL who are tagged with taking a banned substance happening to be Adderall is just slim at best.

They all are very aware that Adderall is a no no and I just don't see Adderall being beneficial enough for these guys to risk a 4 game suspension for it.

So it's obvious to me that most of these cases of "Adderall" are likely HGH or steroids. I mean if you're a player why not? The benefits of taking HGH or steroids are obvious and if you get caught just say it was Adderall and fans and media quickly move on.

The NFL is fine with it because they would much rather people think Adderall is a problem and not HGH or steroids. They only "push" for HGH testing so they can say they were proactive about it and not wind up looking like the MLB but the reality is they are fine with the NFLPA stalling.

well we do know that at least a couple of guys on the defense have prescriptions for it so it is possible some/most/all were really Adderall. The broader point that the terrible CBA leaves it so we can't know is a problem and will always leave doubt. So we can't really assume either way. All we can do is know they came up dirty for something they knew they shouldn't be taking.

That's what makes it somewhat suspicious to me because as far as I know you're allowed to take Adderall as long you go through the process of having the league approve it.

So if you legitimately have a prescription for it there is really no reason to not get it approved with the league. Especially after the first guy on your team is busted for it.

I mean I know NFL players aren't know for being the smartest guys around but I have to believe they are smart enough to think to themselves "So and So got a 4 game suspension for taking Adderall. I have a prescription for Adderall. So I better find out what I need to do in order to not get suspended for Adderall."

Or after a couple of players got suspended for allegedly taking Adderall someone in the Seahawks organization (and really every NFL team for that matter) would gather everyone on the team around, find out who has a prescription for it, and help them get it approved by the league.

Three more months of cheaters, Sea-adderol, USC blah blah blah.

If anyone wants to claim fair/unfair cheat/rule following then don't bother talking to Hawks fans. We learned our lesson 7 seasons ago. I got all that fair play stuff in proper perspective. Don't misunderstand me, I ain't whining. I just don't care anymore.

Bottom line is Seattle is going to kick some serious backside this season and there are going to be plenty of haters. Once again, I don't care anymore.

Bring on the Seattle Cheaters and other crap. Just be sure to bring it home with you. In the meantime, Seattle will bring home the W's

Like dude said it was Sherman who said it was Adderall not confirmed that's what he tested positive for.

Think of what would happened if it was confirmed to be steroids or HGH. It would completely ruin this image of how great he that he's trying to create and make him look like a complete fool in everyone's eyes.

If anyone was to lie about what they took it would be Sherman since he has so much at stake.

Of course that's not to say it wasn't Adderall but I have a tough time when a player throws that excuse out there. Irvin has been the only one that seems believable since he does have a prescription for it.

Have you ever seen him before? Richard Sherman is skinny as fuckkkkk.

Typically you start taking PEDs once you reach the limits of how much muscle/strength your body can put on naturally.

Richard Sherman's position does not require massive amounts of muscle, dude is 6'3 190 but hardly looks 180.

CB is probably lower on the list of HGH users. The largest users of HGH are probably linebackers, offensive/defensive linemen. QB, Kicker, Punter and CB are likely on the lower end of the list...

tldr Richard Sherman would weigh at least 210 if he was on HGH.

i think the implication is the ones getting caught are getting it from the ones who have the prescriptions for it. That's why there is a problem on the defense. They are taking it as a group and having supplied by other players. At least that's the implication.

The bottom line is that this is something that will follow the Seahawks for the entire season and, if they don't get it taken care of right now, possibly longer and I hate that. This could be a special year for this team on the field and if the ultimate on-field goal is achieved, we're sure to hear plenty of calls for an asterisk or cries of "Pete the Cheat" and any other thing you can think of to diminish what they've done on the field. It's easy to say "ignore it", but as a fan, the last thing I want people to do when they think of my team's accomplishments is wonder if they came about them legitimately. I mean, people wouldn't let go of the "fail mary" game and that was a situation that was totally out of the team's control. Just look at the spygate scandal with the Patriots. Ever since that scandal broke, people have been questioning the legitimacy of every title they've won. If the Hawks are good enough and lucky enough to go on that kind of run, I don't wanna be sitting here having to put up with crap from people about the PED suspensions and the questions about whether everyone was clean during that run. Know what I mean?

People are going to bitch and create drama no matter what. It's just nice that they are doing it to our team because it means they are relevant. No one creates drama over teams in the cellar. I couldn't give a damn if people want to cry over a SB win by the seahawks, just win the damned thing.

I get that drama always follows winning teams, but I guess I would rather have that drama stem from jealousy than from something a few of the players got caught doing when the team was still on the rise. I understand the "just win the damn thing" mentality, because we as fans have waited a very long time for a championship. I just don't want anyone to look back on it and be able to question it. I think it would be a lot easier for fans of teams with championships already to shrug that kind of thing off, but that's not how you want your franchise's first championship to be remembered. It would be different if people were just jealous and had nothing to base any claims on, but having multiple guys get suspended for the same reason over the course of a few years puts everything they do after that under the microscope.

It just sucks that some of the players put themselves and the team under that sort of scrutiny in the first place is my overriding point.

ESPN lists him at 195 and for comparison Ryan Braun is 6'2" 205 so it's not out of the realm of possibility of him being on something.

Though I should add even though we're talking about Sherman I wasn't trying say that he himself is lying about Adderall but I just find the Adderall excuse dubious in general when it's used.

All these players could very well be telling the truth about Adderall but we simply don't know if that's truth or not because there is 0 reason for them to say anything other than Adderall if they get busted for something.

Remember when people were pulling their hair out for the "Aggies 12th Man" thing?
Folks are going to find something to pout about regardless. If it ain't Adderol, then it will be the light bulbs used in the concession stands.

I ain't gonna ignore the negative press, I am gonna revel in it. Bathe in it, up to my eyes and rub it in to my skin.

Let the bitches bitch, hell. Forget letting them. I demand the bitches bitch, and the sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

Ryan Braun is not 6'2. I can promise you that.

Every MLB player I've stood next to has their height exaggerated a good 2+ inches.

Also LOL @ Patrick Peterson being ranked #33
