I hate flopping. I hate when my team flops. No. It's not fine. It's not part of the game. It's a man's way of saying he doesn't have enough confidence in his abilities to beat you straight up so he is going to resort to cheap theatrics to try and gain an undeserved advantage with the reds help.

It cheapens the game. It cheapens competition. And, quite frankly, it has become a stigma that has degraded the NBA in many viewers' eyes.

I think the refs should get fined for falling for it. They seem to be pretty sure about their other calls so what's the difference?

I always said this. If the refs falls for the flop, who fault is that? These refs are supposedly the best in the business so should they not be able to notice an obvious flop?

Players should not be the ones getting fined for their flops as that fine should go to whichever ref missed the flop

If the refs get fined for flopping, who do you think they would get angry at, the league or the player who flopped? The refs are SUPPOSED to be impartial, and if they get fined, they can harbor abhorrence towards the players who are costing them money.

Another dead give away that most flop and see it as "normal" is the fact that you dont see other players calling out the flop when someone flops....its always between the ref and the floppee arguing and maybe the coach of the flopped team.

Say NO to Flopping LeBum...Refs are watching you.

LOL, finally something i agree with. maybe they should have someone in the stands that grades refs during a game...?
While they are reviewing the flops they can fine the refs as well.

I bet that would curtail flopping more than the fines. Who can argue if the ref calls you for carrying everytime you dribble the ball??

Or just send a sniper to the stands to shoot a flopper.

They should be angry at them self for missing an obvious flop that was so obvious for the league to fine the player.

You think players really care that they fined/warned for flopping if the refs fell for a flop in the actual game?

If you would have used the term "flopper".....you would have covered all tenses of the word.

Flopping is a skill that is taught early on in a player's basketball career if they have coaches that know what they are doing. When contact is made, human instinct is to stand your ground and try to withstand it. The flopper simply allows their body to move with the contact in an effort to make it look worse than it is.

Flopping is an issue in high school and even younger levels. It will continue to be taught to young players by coaches unless leagues at all levels institute penalties for it. Obviously, you can't fine a high school player.

Look Lebron flops.. Wade flops... heck, i saw Shaq flop
Shaq Flops vs Dwight Howard (Superman vs Superman 2.0!) - YouTube

Reggie Miller was the king of it.. current best is derek fisher. i want the NBA to get rid of flopping. They really need to crack down harder than they have.

But alot of this is subjective. The other night people accused Wade of flopping when Hibbert knocked him over. At the end of the day, players are going to do anything within the rules to get an advantage. Heck, I want players on the Heat to take advantage of the rules. Flopping is cheating the same way fouling someone is cheating. Both against the rules. Sometimes you get away with it.

But honestly, I wish the NBA would do something about it.

The problem is how. Fining players after the fact does not change the results. A player could potentially get away with an egregious game-deciding flop. I doubt the player would care about a post-game monetary fine if the flop resulted in a playoff victory.

So basically the premise to your entire thread is nonsense and just another kindergarten attempt to rip James. Every player tries to get away with as much as they can. The only player I have ever seen say he touched the ball last is the young man in the TV commercial.

And CL, why single out James for denial? Instead, how about showing us the list of players who say they are flopping?

And good seeing JD back. Nothing needs to be said as to why you left. Glad you thought it through and came back.

And why is it that alltime greats like Shaq, Kobe, MJ, and Magic, never flopped. Yet guys like Lebron are amongst the worst floppers in the league?
The way I see it, is Lebron knows he can't win without cheating (steroids, secretely forming a dream team, and flopping).

Again, this is why Lebron is hated by everyone. Cowardly, and unsportsmanlike.

Flopping is no more unsportsmanlike then faking being fouled or trying to trick the refs into making an incorrect call on a ball going out of bounds. Like
I said, every player in the league attempts to gain any andveverynedge they can for their team.

As always, this thread is nothing more then Lakers fans (surprise, surprise)'whining like little bitches because James stole the spotlight from Kobe years ago.
