The whole "front 7" comparision is wrong. This discussion needs to be divided into secondary, linebackers, and defensive line.

Seahawks have the better secondary, 9ers have the better linebackers.

The defensive line would appear basically even, but I think that the Seahawks definately have superior depth. I am also skeptical about the 9ers losing Sop and bringing in Dorsey. Dorsey is most often described as disappointing and a bust, but we will see if a change of scenery does anything for him.

Well, it's pretty hard to compare just DL's and LB's when they run different schemes. We have one of, if not the best DL in the NFL. Truthfully, it's hard to compare units at all when it's 11 guys on the field every snap, working in unison. You seen what a lack of pass rush did to our secondary at the end of the year. Both teams obviously have great defenses that are thought to be the best, or the 2nd best.

And didn't Soap play like a 1/3 of our snaps? I would be VERY surprised if he lives up to the contract he got in Philly. I think Dorsey was being brought in as more of a depth guy than anything. I like the signing and I'm hopeful he lives up to his high draft status a couple years ago. Guy was a beast in college but it hasn't really translated.

I read Clemons wants to play in the 3rd preseason game, but PC would rather keep him out till at least week 1. Your right, i can't argue that fact about comparing front 7's until they play, but I can hope the Hawks new additions can gel and rival SF front 7. So is the PED's going to be your excuse when the Niners lose week 2?

You won't hear any excuses from me. Our boys know the importance of the game and if revenge isn't enough motivation for them to beat you guys, I'll be more happy too concede you were the better team that day. Playing in Seattle is extremely tough. Breaking your winning streak there would be huge, but at the end of the day if we don't win, I'm not going to write the season off if we don't win, because beating a good team on the road isn't always going to happen.

I'm sure the players know the importance of week 2, but do you think Roman is going to dumb down the playbook as to not give anything away for the playoffs?:L

Nope. Not this year. He's going to open it up and whip Seattle's ass down the field and back with it.

Ummmmm....I suppose it is a good thing you agree with yourself. I would be worried if you didn't!

The 9ers are still having nightmares about last year in Seattle. In week #2 it will become a REOCCURRING nightmare.

I thought Roman had opened up the playbook for Kaep? Niners were putting up a boat load of points until they ran into Seattle's D. Maybe the Niners can get to 14pts with an open playbook. Maybe!!!

Man, Kaepernick ran 5 plays? lol. Didn't even need to shower after that. What a complete joke. Sure, 9ers showed up with some defense here and there, but that was a terrible game.

Another "should have been" TD by Kaep, followed by the obligitory field goal after the overthrow.

9ers better hope that this is not a pattern!

Yeah...I'm really concerned...I mean if Kaep can't score a TD on EVERY drive, we are going to be in big time trouble...

I think San Fran had displayed the ability to score points since he took over for us last year. Hard to get into much of a rhythm when you play a few snaps a game. I'm sure we'll see more of our 1st team in week 3.

I try to agree with myself as often as I can. Otherwise inner battles happen and it's back to the rubber room.

That was week 1. Doubt the 1's will be in for just 5 freaking plays tonight. My point was watching the 9'er 2's was pretty boring and uninspiring. The D made a few plays here and there, but the rest of it was just god awful. No one doubts their 1's will play well, but I didn't see any signs there is depth enough to cover injuries on that team. Those WR's are just plain bad and no one stood out on the rest of the offense outside of the starters. This just might be a looooong season for the 9'er faithful.

That's what Hawk fans are trying to remind the :cheer2::cheer2: homos like suhsurbuttbuddy, dre21 and yossarian is the lack of depth and they better stay healthy. Those WR's and CB's are thin. Backup OL?
Backup QB?

The Hawks can win some games if RWilson gets a hammy and misses 3 weeks. TJack could go 2-1 vs anyone. Kaep goes out for 3 weeks and SF's season is done.

We shall see soon enough but where's Kaep's touch? He has to drop that bunny in the basket....

The defense made a few good plays? Our second team played against the chiefs 1st string for almost the whole first half. Still no offensive TDs given up. 7 sacks yesterday as well. The defense has depth. And our corners have played very well. Nnamdi and Parrish cox have looked very good.

Offense... That's another story. Still haven't had Williams, Mario, or the rook Patton play any snaps at WR. Hunter hasn't played in any games yet at RB. I am worried about oline depth.

I see there are no niner fans here at the moment for 'smack talk' as Seattle dismantles Denver.
Go Hawks. RW sucked tonight huh?
Our Depth is HUGE.
Yes, SF, you WILL be scouting our DB's that we cut, but you won't get WTIII.

Seriously, talking shit about preseason games where no one plays is just dumb. Yeah, my team did good for a drive or two.
