I'm more interested in whether or not PIT will have a RB that is fantasy relavent, or if they will all just syphon each other's value away, and be a complete crap shoot on which one gets the carries/TDs

Pittsburgh's decision to draft Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell has made Jonathan Dwyer expendable. SOURCE: Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
Analysis: The draft is winding to a close, so it looks like Dwyer will stay put for now. Don't be surprised if the Steelers trade him before the season starts though.

That's from FFchamps...........Redman didn't cut it last year (he was OK catching passes out of the backfield though) so it looks like Bell's job to lose.

thanks Sam. I remember when SD drafted Ryan Mathews, so everyone send that Tolbert was expendable since Mathews was a 'do-it-all' RB. Not sure I'm sold on Bell being that great at NFL level, but I do hope one of them comes out as the clear cut RB1 for PIT, whichever back they go with should make a decent RB2/3 if they are getting the bulk of the touches

Dwyer and Bell look almost identical when comparing size/combine results. Both seem to be plodders IMO

oh yeah, I also forgot to mention when talking about rookies that could make a fantasy impact that it would be worth watching the NWE WR situation closely.

Gronk not recovering quickly, Hernandez could arguably be considered injury prone (missed games 2 yrs in a row), and it looks like they signed the best WR that went undrafted in TJ Moe from Mizzou (Wes Welker type WR, quick, but not fast, finds open space, but isnt a huge target. Interesting TJ Moe fact -- lead all WRs at combine in bench press reps, 24 or 26 I think)

My take on the Bears and Forte is a positive one. I figure if Forte can do respectably under the stubborn OC Martz (Forte was 15th among RB), and if he could do even better under the inept OC Tice (Forte finished 12th), then it stands to reason that an offensive-minded head coach such as Trestman should get more out of the offense. i.e. Forte.

I'm not predicting a top 5 finish by any means, but I like Forte to finish a little better. What hurts Forte's value is that Marshall is now the redzone target (and for good reason).

Monkey mentioned Pitts RB mess. I agree. There's quite a few messy or potential RBBC situations IMO. Such as NE, DEN, MIA, CAR, NYG, and DET. Hope we get a clearer picture before the Suicide league drafts?

I don't see a committee approach in Denver..I see a lead (Ball), and a change of pace (Hillman), with McGahee on the streets, possibly Moreno too

I think Moreno is a good sleeper... it looked to me like Manning liked having him in there, and that counts for a lot.

Eventually, you may be right, Treff. But John Fox likes to collect RB's just like Shanahan (imo).

As an experienced and award winning fantasy football player of many years it doesn’t really matter to me where he goes cause nothing is going to stop me from drafting this guy number one over all in my keeper league.
Guess who said this................

with McGahee on the streets, possibly Moreno too

When I first read this, I thought no way do they cut both. I believed either Moreno or McGahee stay to go with Ball and Hillman, and couldn't see Peyton wanting to rely on 2 inexperienced guys in pass protection.

But, Moreno had yet ANOTHER surgery on the same knee this offseason, so I wouldn't be overly shocked if he gets cut. Ball is of the same mold as McGahee, so there really isn't any reason to keep 2 RBs with identical skill sets, especially when one of them is old. I could see Hillman getting more touches, but Ball scoring the TDs, doing his best impersonation of McGahee, vulturing TDs to make them both RB3s for fantasy.

well, the only thing that even somewhat supports my hopes, stat-wise, is that when Fox has one guy, who is a bit better than the other options, he gives that guy the lions share. The only time he hasn't is when he's had equally good (DWILL and JSTEW) or equally bad (Desuan Foster and Co.).
Evidenced by McGahee missing six game and still leading the team, and Moreno being basically inactive for all but the six games McGahee missed, and was second..all the others were WAY behind. Fox might like to have good RB's on the roster, but hehas no problem riding one, so long as he gets the job done.

So, if Balls pass protection at WISC translates to the NFL, it's his to lose

I like Monte Ball and Jonathan Franklin out of this rookie class. I worry about Eddie Lacy's Toe issue lingering into the year.. Sleeper RB for this rookie class is Rams Zac Stacy.. Not trying to be a homer but I think he has a legit chance of starting especially half way into the year.

I've got Pead pegged as my hope to be a RB3. Richardson is blah..and I don't know enough about the others yet. I did kinda sorta like most of what I saw from Pead. Overall a situation to probably avoid if possible

Pead needs to show me something because Richardson looked like the 2nd round pick last year not Pead ( Richardson was taken in 7th round) I feel Stacy and Richardson/Pead will split the carries with Stacy getting most goal line carries if he can hold on to the ball

So is Fisher changing his approach to offense this year? Has always been a possession/run first guy, but with SJax gone, and speedy receiving options added, it appears he is making the switch.

I really like to pieces around Bradford now, and I think it is safe to say that for the first time since Faulk came to town, that RB is probably the weakest (or maybe just the most uncertain) position on offense. Could argue OG, but if the coaching staff believes in Rok Watson, I'm willing to see what he can do before judging.

I know we touched on their improvements a little bit last year, but do the Brownies have a legit shot at NOT finishing dead last in the AFC North this year? It's been awhile for them to field a decent all around team, and the new management seems to be getting some good playmakers.

The defense really wasnt horrible last year, played well in most of their games considering the lack of offensive help. I see Mingo/Kruger shredding the OL's, especially since PIT has been extremely unstable there recently, and BAL OL wasnt really that great until the playoffs came. That was the real reason that Flacco was so good down the stretch, his OL played their best ball of the year the last 6 games.

A fully healthy TRich could be very scary. Getting Davone Bess for practically nothing should help Weeden on 3rd downs/in the slot. Now, if only it were legal for Josh Gordon and Greg Little to put some kind of adhesive on their hands....
