Wow, never done that before. Seen, and done, the ball stuck between the backboard and the rim to the side...but that is amazing. They should give him $2K just for all the publicity that stunt is now going to get them.
I can't imagine that even if the ball hit the backboard and rim at the perfect position to where it was slowed by both x and y axis, the coefficient of friction between glass, smooth metal, and the ball would be great enough to stop that force.
I am sure I could try to use some estimates to figure it all out, but I would rather just sit in amazement.
