Should it matter that K-State ducked Oregon this year?

Sorry for the awful pun, the but the question remains. IMO, it is incredibly disappointing to hear K-State backers diss Oregon's schedule when Kansas State cancelled a game with Oregon. By giving K-State a strength of schedule edge, you are awarding them for breaking an agreement.

I have no answers for how to fix it, but something about that sits very poorly with me.

The BCS takes into account who they're actually playing. So it technically already has an effect. If Kansas State had Oregon on the schedule and beat them, they'd be a clear NCG selection. They don't.

I think it would matter to me if KSU hadnt have had their hand sort of forced by the B12 going to 9 conference games. KSU plays 5 road games in the B12 this year so they needed their 3 home OOC games to pay the bills. I believe this years game would have been at Autzen while last years game was supposed to be in Manhattan.

Yea i think the press should talk about more and then maybe the voters would take that into account, rather subconsciously or not.

I don't think it matters. People assume that K-state is thinking.."Oh Oregon is too good, we don't wanna play them"..That's not the case. IF there wasn't something causing them to have to take Oregon off, I don't think they would have.

It won't matter in the calculations, if that's what you're driving at.

....

People actually think there is a committee at schools that works 24/7 and will cancel games if they don't think they can win:burt:
