Yes, after the fact quantifiable evidence.

Should Wash have sat MY based on what did happen? Yes. Did he know that earlier in the year? No. Did he have history that MY would stay in a season long slump? No. Can we see all of this in hindsight? Yes.

Is Wash a bad manager for not knowing that MY would be in a season long slump based on anything he had history wise? No. MY has been an excellent hitter his entire career. If we roll around to next year and MY is still playing every day, then you can complain. But you can't blame Wash for giving MY the chance to hit his way out of a slump. You don't sit your way out, you hit your way out. Now it is obvious it isn't a slump but something is wrong. MY is hurt or he has lost it. Unfortunately you don't change in September when your team is playoff bound.

Address it in the offseason, and get off Wash's back for now.

We knew how MY's season was going to go in August.

We knew how MY's season was going to go in August.

No, we had an idea how it would go. But knowing that MY has always been a better hitter than that, he was given the benefit of the doubt. Same reason Josh wasn't sat, same reason Nap still gets out there, same reason Cruz wasn't sat, same reason Ian isn't sat.

All players go through and most come out of it. MY is the exception, and now we know. In August we didn't. Next August will be different.

If he has only a few years, yes. If he has been around for a decade and never shown any signs of doing this, then I disagree.

Josh did sit and was publicly criticized and did come out of his funk. MY went over 2 months without a day off at one point.

I don't recall that. I recall him getting rest quite a bit during the summer. Could be wrong, but I remember MY-less nights.

Like I said. 2 months without a day off. That's fact.

Had he been benched after a terrible start, like you wanted to do with MY, Jeter wouldn't have fought his way back to almost .300.

You play your players and you don't make changes to the team leader mid stream.

during the last 30 games, this is a breakdown of games played by our players:

Beltre 28

Murphy 28

Hamilton 28

Andrus 28

Cruz 28

Kinsler 26

Young 25

that's 5 days off in the last 30

So he has actually had the most time off in the last 30 games, which should be about a month and a half?

Just for clarity. Paternity leave accounted for 3 full games and most of a 4th so it's not like he was given a day off to sit on the bench.

so proven wrong you come back with something else

Proven wrong? You're do full of shit your eyes are brown. You made my point for me that MY's performance was awful when he never was given a day off for over two months (which he was undeniably) but that his performance improved following some days off albeit forced by paternity leave (not given by wash). Proven wrong? Seriously??? Try again there Bucky.

Also this. Days off not by Wash's doings.

days off are days off. your comment was he had not had a day off in 2 months now you're trying to dance around proof that he had 5 days off in the last 30 by using symantics

:L no genius. I said at one point on the season he was not given a day off for over two months in spite of awful performance and giving other key players time off when they were struggling. Is tgat tge best you can do? Put words in another poster's mouth. You're really reaching here to hold onto any semblance of being right, buts it's just looking a little pathetic.

And no, the fact that the days off came as a result of paternity leave as opposed to Wash's decision to actually give him days off is not insignificant. It shows that Wash's refusal to give him days off in spite of his awful performance was actually hurting MY and the team as his performance has been better following the time off due to paternity leave taking the decision out of Wash's hands.
