Decided to go to the Cuervo lounge after the 7th inning. My ass is sweating.

Good outing from Yu. Hard to tell, but it looked like he got screwed a couple of times. I like the way soto seemed to handle him though.

He pitched well except for a couple of walks. I will take similar outings like this everytime from Yu and we wll have a chance to win jut about every time

OMG that's perfect!!! How did you even come up with that??

Some crazy ass manager that some love, and many hate... spoke those words a time or two.

If only our team could be lucky enough to have such a wise manager.

Right? Last I remember, he's the manager of the team that holds the best record in the AL currently.

Putting young in over gentry and olt is not putting your best 9 out there

i'm not the manager and neither are you. you think Gentry and Olt are better Washington doesn't. all i pointed out was it is Washington's call on who plays. Using Gentry or one of the other 3 OF'ers as the DH leaves you with a back-up OF'er if something happens to one of them, like Cruz having to leave the game the other night. and in Wash's words he thinks Olt is too young to handle the DH role. (NOT MY WORDS). i think Olt should be at AAA getting playing time instead of sitting on the bench getting the occasion pinch-hitting shot or opportunity at 1st or 3rd which is all he is going to get in Wash's scheme.

Mike Olt is going to be a good one. But its wasting ML Service for Olt to be sitting on the Bench. Everyday He is Up it moves Him Closer to Arbitration and Free Agency. He really needs to be Playing right now. I like Gentry. A lot of Speed. But f you give him 500 Plus At Bats He is going to become Over Exposed. Pitchers will Pitch to Him differently as time goes on especially in the Lead Off Spot. His Average will start to come down. Gentry played a Number of Years in the Minors and is already in his Late 20's. He is not a Big Prospect. Gentry himself understands his position. He isn't saying Play Me or Trade me.

The thing is ... it made no sense to promote Olt from AA to simply give Snyder regular playing time at 3b for RR and to just take Snyder's spot at the end of the bench or out in the bullpen as #3 catcher. Something had to have happened once he was promoted to change their minds.

Sat night game walkoff by Olt was totally unscripted of course. With Phil Coke in the game he is not the kind of lefty that few LH hitter feels good facing so I understand Wash wanting to get him out of there. But listening to Wash' post game comments it is like it was the totally natual thing to do ... "game on the line ... so we called on Olt to win it for us". That's nuts. He's too young to DH ... yet not too young to come in with the winning run on 2nd and two outs in the bottom of the 9th.

There is something else going on ... gotta be. That would be the only explanation. Or else ... why was he promoted from AA?

i think JD had something in mind on the trade front when they promoted Olt and now they're unsure what to do

Scotty... but that doesn't make sense. His promotion in Aug takes him off the PTBNL list and if he's traded from the active roster in Aug he would first have to clear waivers... and that isn't going to happen.

It was as if JD promoted him in order to stop the phone ringing from other GMs.

I don't see JD making a move that starts service time on a high value asset based on "something in mind". Also ... never have thought JD was "unsure what to do".

What promoting Olt did do was put the squeeze on MY to start performing at the plate ... and close off Wash using MY at 1b.

Something rational is going to happen ... and I don't believe it is going to be demoting Olt to the minors to get ABs.

we will have to wait and see but Wash is only going to use him as he sees fit and is not going to listen to anyone on this board

again Wash doesn't agree with your assessment.

Again, wash is an idiot. We have numbed to back up our assessments. What does he have? Leadership and a track record?

And you agree with Wash that they should continue trotting Young and his .303 OBP, .346 SLG, and .649 OPS and -1.4 WAR out there at DH??

If Wash truly looked at (or understood) his numbers, then he wouldn't agree with himself either

Doesn't mean we don't have the right to call out his stupidity.

Exactly. How he continues to sidestep such obvious numbers is beyond me.
