My hope is fading. When i heard last night that the PA has yet to submit a full offer it means that they think there is still plenty of time. I think they look at mid Feb as the deadline and are waiting until then so the league will make a panic move. The bad thing about that is if they do the next CBA will end in lockout as well.

DarrenDreger: PA confirms meeting tomorrow morning. Roughly, 10 am start.

Will the NHLPA present a proposal? Will the meeting last longer than 10 minutes? Does anybody care? Who is Keyser Soze?

Me to my mom: Give me a dollar and I'll be good.
My mom: Why can't you be more like your father and be good for nothin'

"Negotiations could have continued while games were played. It did not have to come to this."

So, where was that attitude last season?

What a complete waste of time writing that letter. Less letters and PR, more proposals!

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
We're also hearing the NHLPA proposal will work off a percentage of HRR -- as requested by NHL -- and not a guaranteed dollar amount.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
PA moves off its position on guaranteed players share dollars + shifts more to the owners demand of a percentage base in the revenue split.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
We're hearing today's NHLPA proposal to NHL will include increasing the NHL's $211M Make Whole provision by another $180M.

Aaron Ward ‏@aaronward_nhl
In NYC for #CBA meetings. Early indication,NHLPA has made a significant move in the direction of the owners. #TSN

All positives. Well maybe not the additional $180M, but what's $180M?

"Negotiations could have continued while games were played. It did not have to come to this."

After the baseball strike that killed the '94 World Series (and essentially killed the Expos), no commissioner will ever permit a season to start without a CBA in place. Fehr knows this, so to continue to trot out this tired old line is disingenuous.
