Jalen Pickett who was the alternative option wasn’t going to provide the spark Russ did in several games in that series

Any of their young guys who weren’t playing can replace his production.

They won’t post the same numbers, but the team will likely be better with a guy like Strawther out there because of the impact on spacing for others.

It’s a mental thing. NBA made a rule change several years ago regarding fts and never been the same for him at the line since

True...on the other hand, he hurt them vs. OKC. I won't go as far as to say that they beat OKC without him...but he sure as heck didn't help much.

He is what he is at this point of his career

I think he is fine as the 6th or 7th man on a good team if you are looking for someone to lead your 2nd unit. I don't think at this point of his career he should play clutch minutes often but cooked isn't the word I'll use for him

I would take him on Miami right now over Rozier for certain

Yeah, he's definitely not cooked. He just isn't consistent anymore.

He definitely can still help teams that know how to use him.

When he enters a game, you can usually tell pretty quickly which Russ you're getting.

If it's "good Russ" leave him in...if not, short leash.

Different positions. Strawther could have played with Russ. One guy is a pg and the other is a sg on the team

Murray is the primary PG.

But it doesn’t matter who plays in that spot because the offense runs through Jokic.

Maybe not. Never know for sure.

But I know he cost the team plenty of games too. Like against OKC as others have pointed out.

There are some player who fit on any roster because of their play style. Guys who can shoot, play off the ball and at least defend their position adequately.

Russ is like the opposite of that. He is very difficult to fit into any team system.
