They had a good draft. Glad they stuck to their guns. The Bears package wasn't all that anyway. Essentially trade away Henderson for a 7th.

The Bears offered to take our preferred target off our hands for a guaranteed UDF. That's pretty much what it amounted to.

Such a weird article labeling Henderson as a controversial pick. I don't know anyone that actually watched him play that would call that a controversial pick. There was plenty of talk that some teams considered him in the 1st round.

True, he wasn't a "Position of need" per se, but if he improved the team then Boom!

Oh for sure. Those buzz words get the attention. Just wish they could find ways to not have to exaggerate to get across a good point. When there are multiple teams all wanting the same player that is the story, not he was a controversial pick where he was taken. Obviously multiple NFL teams disagree with it being controversial.

This writer thinks it was controversial. He states debates have occurred that they should have selected another position of need. So he feels that is the case and makes that claim to support his opinion. I have not seen one debate about the pick

I tend to think not much different if they traded out of 1 it most likely would not have been out of the top 6 or 7 and would most likely have been for more depth next year.

They would have traded out of the #1. The Jags traded up and there would have been scramblers looking to get Carter. He might have been tough to pass on, but I think he was way too tempting for someone not to make a multi-pick offer, including a 2026 first rounder. Patriots would still have Campbell but they would have had an extra second or third round pick also.

From the way things look right now, this draft was a gold mine.

A bit different after the first round with an extra second round pick. Next years draft would have been completely different with an extra 1st round pick.


New York at 4 and Cleveland at 5 both offered 2025 first and second plus 2026 first with other later round picks.
