Hired a couple new guys and a bunch of guys got promoted. One of Paton's guys promoted to GM, which bodes well for the relationship forged between Paton and Payton. Because SP could have had his own guy brought in if he really wanted. Also bodes well for the team the front office promotes from within like that.

I was nervous how that relationship would go considering one is known for coming from a very conservative organization that when it came to the draft wanted to trade back more than move up and of course Payton being the opposite. Yet I think they have done a great job of balancing each other out. They have shown they have a ton of respect for each other and have let their love of football bond them together.

I appreciate more and more that Payton, even though he has a giant ego, is still able to recognize when things are not working or when things are working and not to rock the boat just because the player/GM is not "his" guy. The work with Mims, Nix and the offense he put him in, keeping Joseph when everyone said fire him, being willing to move on from Wilson knowing it was going to cost $85 million, etc.

I really appreciate it! We are safe. Spent about 40 minutes in our basement with sirens going off. A town not too far from me did get hit pretty bad. We have now had 2 of the 4 closest towns to us hit by tornadoes over the last about 3 years. Last night we still had some friends of our family missing as they dug through the rubble of the person's house to find them. They were found thankfully and doing ok.

Glad you are well and your friends too. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have to start over after such devastation. Really glad you are safe and if I know anything about you, it's that if you have an opportunity to help someone who has been affected by the storms, you will do so.

Franklin-Myers might best be slotted in at a four-year deal between $64M and $68M if treated as an edge rusher, but bumped up a bit if treated as an interior defender. The question is whether the Broncos are willing to pay him that much money, particularly with Zach Allen being a more productive player and Nik Bonitto being several years younger.

Bottom Line

JFM is not an edge rusher.

Appreciate it. Thankfully small communities like this they had quite a few crews come in and help with the cleanup. Within a day they already had an incredible section of the town picked up. Few years ago when we had a town about 20 minutes from us get hit they had thousands show up from the area and within a day all rubble had been picked up.

Biggest issue now is finding housing for all these people. We have a major housing shortage and it will take years before all the homes are rebuilt.

I hope so too. We were supposed to have a 2nd round of possible tornadoes again last night, but thankfully the storm calmed down quite a bit from what they expected.

We’ve had quite a few tornado warnings here recently in mid Missouri where I’m at and a few that have hit some areas surrounding me

It would be unusual for me to live somewhere where I don't have at least one Tornado nearby once a week from April through August. Not happening is about as rare as it not being cloudy, gloomy and rainy on at least one day of the NFL Draft.

Yeah we usually have to go to our basement about 3 times a year for a nearby tornado. The problem with this last one was it was an F-3 and actually hit a town. This is a picture of some of the damage.
