Im not a big fan of it either.....but whaddya do......
The Black Friday game is no biggie to me, it's simply a game on the day after Thanksgiving. I'm not one of those crazy shoppers who flood the malls that day. My yuck factor is it won't be shown on regular TV, so I'll have to drag my lazy ass to the casino in order to watch it.

Amazon Prime games have typically been available for free on Twitch.

Here we go kids, the 2025 Bears schedule, both preseason and regular season:

Some notable games of interest:

*All three of our preseason games are against AFC teams
*We open against Minny at home on MNF
*Our bye comes very early - week 5 (yuck)
*Week 6 is at Washington (revenge game) on MNF
*Black Friday is at Philly
*We play the Pack two weeks apart, 14 & 16
*We close at home against Detroit, game date and time is TBD, obviously depending on playoff implications

Naturally we need to see how the rest of camp and the preseason games pan out before I come out with an official prediction. But nothing from this schedule at this point in time has me changing my initial guess of our boyz going 8-9.

how awesome we wait 9 months for football again, just to have to wait for the final game of opening weekend.

Last year I felt that losing at home to the Titans would be a bad sign....Turns out I was wrong...We won and sucked anyway.

Guess I never learn because losing at home in the opener vs. a rookie QB is probably going to be a bad sign. It will be a nice barometer game.

Of course I'm gonna root big time for us to win the game itself, but my main focus will be on how the offense operates, specifically how the OL protects and Caleb's pass accuracy.

And no Thursday night game.....I guess they quit the every team plays a game on a Thursday.
Good by me....players can rest their nagging injuries a couple days longer this way.

A new system with 3 (maybe 4 depending on Braxton) brand new offensive linemen working up front against one of the stingiest teams in the NFL last year?

I expect some ugliness...but just for once that actually not being the case and us marching up and down the field would be an unexpected pleasant surprise.

Week 1 is usually a poor barometer for any conclusions. Especially with how half-assed (is "half-assed" a generous term, at this point?) the pre-season is. Honestly, the first four games are typically up and down nowadays. Every year there's 1-3 or 2-2 teams who wind up making a huge second half run (and visa versa). They all count the same, though. So, you sure want to pickup wins and get ahead. (duh)

2022 was (by wins/losses) the worst Bears team of my lifetime. They upset the defending NFC champs in Week 1 and started 2-1 before going 3-14. 2018 was our most recent "legitimately good" Bears team. They had the single most demoralizing Week 1 choke of a loss vs Rodgers that I can think of and started 3-3 before going 12-4.

The whole point of week 1 is so fans can knee-jerk and overreact.

I still dont understand why they cannot just shut down a full division for a bye week. They want division play to mean something, then they should get the same bye. Most weeks have 4 teams, some have 6, some have 2, week 13 has none.

32 teams, 8 bye weeks, 4 per week, lets the byes happen 4 weeks on each side of the midpoint. Simple solution for giving teams bye after a trip to europe, FUCK THEM, LET THEM HAVE THEIR OWN FOOTBALL.

Think we have our 4th receiver (2nd video down)

Sure looks like a fun way to end practices, but there is a risk and reward deal here. Just like before when the defense would pick off a pass and do a jump punt. I bet 65% of the offense is build because Wright is on the right side.

I don't think there's too much risk in letting the OL have a little fun at the end of practice. A helluva lot more risk in doing their drills and whatever contact they're making when practicing their blocking techniques. I just had to share that reception by Wright, it was too much fun not to do so.
