I like Mafah. I hope he steps up and earns a roster spot. I also like that that UDFA receiver from Oregon. I think he is going to take somebody's roster spot. He can play
So far reading about Mafah and Blue I'm wondering if running back by committee might a good thing.

I would much rather see Mafah on the roster than Sanders unless Sanders plays well enough to beat out Williams as the lead back. It makes no sense to me to have a 29 year old 3rd back over a rookie you drafted

This off-season has been much better. By adding Pickens and having a great draft this roster is upgraded over last season IMO. Possibly they can compete for a WC spot if they stay healthy .
I think adding Pickens now makes anything but a wildcard a disappointment. This team is now in the playoff mix for sure. SB? No. Playoffs, yes :2cents:

And Sanders isn’t running down on punts or kickoffs either

I think Eziraku will be a double digit sack guy. He has all the moves, long arms, bend, speed and the motor. This is my bold prediction. Cowboys pass rush is going to be impressive.

I also predict they run the ball between the tackles and Booker is going to dominate. This guy is huge and nasty

If EZ is double digits as a rookie it will be a good season for the Cowboys. Micah will get his 14-15 unless he misses time, Fowler and Sam Williams are both pass rush threats and Kneeland will fall into a couple. We need that great team rush like we had a couple of years ago

Very, very unlikely that happens this year, but yeah it would be great for our chances if it did...assuming Micah healthy as well of course

I agree. I do think he will eventually be that kind of guy. I also think Revel and Booker, and possibly Blue will all be real good players. But we might slow the role a little on all of them as rookies. I would expect something from them like we got from Beebe, some ups and some downs but solid and what looks like a plus player by year two. I think the biggest reason for optimism is Pickens. If his head is screwed on right, he is a needle mover

I wish I shared your enthusiasm. We will only go as far as our defense lets us.
Again, we can have a killer offense, but that wont matter if our defense always gives up leads.

I think we have gone from 7-8 wins to 9-10.
Defensive players like Overshown, Diggs and Revel being out take us to a possible top 10 D to more like a 16-20. If those guys were healthy and we invested in a DT, I would be very confident in the D.
Im not gonna complain about Booker because I like him and he is a stud, and im not going to say how AMAZING our offense could have been had we paired Lamb with Pickens AND Warren(Holy Fuck!), but I will say, the other guy i wanted, Derrick Grant...Lord if we slapped him in there at NT our defense would be salty

I am hoping our DC has some magic.
Like Zimmer from yesteryear. He could build a good defense with less than.
I also am happy with our draft picks. We couldnt fix everything with just one draft. Next year I hope they hit my Wishlist. (or some surprise happens this year on defense)

I think personnel wise, he will need to move off Dono at S. We are gonna play almost all 2 deep. And im hoping JT can stuff the run. Big asks

Much of their success will be if they can run the ball and if they can stop the run. I think they took good steps for them to run the ball.

Stopping the run? Not so much. .but they were not going to fix everything in one off season is my view.

But isn’t the defense better? I don’t mean SB ready, but better than it was. I still take a 2 or 3 year approach and now with bringing in a talent like Pickens I can see it being 2 years and not 3 if Jerry just lets his coaches take over and for year 2 (and hopefully half of this year) we have Overshown back at LBer and I like Liufau more than most seem to. Kid makes plays. We have a lot more pass rushers now. If the kid works out We have 3 CBs or two if we cut Diggs but his cap space to spend elsewhere. We still need DT badly and at least one safety. That can be next years goal or maybe another trade this year? A lot of rumors about Reader from Detroit potentially being available.

We aren’t winning a SB but maybe we can stop being so soft and start building towards one. Well, that Amy hope at least.

That’s pretty much where I am. Right around 9. If everything breaks our way more but it seldom does. I’d guess 8 or 9.

Or at least more of a rotation.let Wilson play early downs and get him off the damn field in pure passing situations for Bell, Thomas or Mukuamu or whomever else may show up - maybe the Syracuse kid?
