That’s pretty much where I am. Right around 9. If everything breaks our way more but it seldom does. I’d guess 8 or 9.

Yeah. We could win 12-13....if Diggs and Revel are back week one and Overshown by midseason...and if we have legit contributions from 4-5 rookies....and if Mazi and Guyton make a jump. A lot of ifs. It could also go sideways. But unlike last season, Im going to be happy with whatever we do record wise, because we actually made real progress this offseason

Or at least more of a rotation.let Wilson play early downs and get him off the damn field in pure passing situations for Bell, Thomas or Mukuamu or whomever else may show up - maybe the Syracuse kid?

Syracuse kid is gonna make the team IMO. They really like him

But isn’t the defense better? I don’t mean SB ready, but better than it was. I still take a 2 or 3 year approach and now with bringing in a talent like Pickens I can see it being 2 years and not 3 if Jerry just lets his coaches take over and for year 2 (and hopefully half of this year) we have Overshown back at LBer and I like Liufau more than most seem to. Kid makes plays. We have a lot more pass rushers now. If the kid works out We have 3 CBs or two if we cut Diggs but his cap space to spend elsewhere. We still need DT badly and at least one safety. That can be next years goal or maybe another trade this year? A lot of rumors about Reader from Detroit potentially being available.

We aren’t winning a SB but maybe we can stop being so soft and start building towards one. Well, that Amy hope at least.

I honestly dont have an answer to if the defense will be better. If we dont have a consistent defense (even if we have sacks) I will completely believe we would fail against a playoff caliber team. While everyone focuses on pass rushing & as you point out DBs. I dont believe we can have a consistent successful defense until we can control the middle of the defense. (the foundation) DBs no matter how good will fail after X amount of time. We to what I know drafted a 7th rd. guy to upgrade the middle. Not completely inspiring. Now if Liufau secures the middle. That will be awesome. But as of right now. I have no idea where we stand on defense. if we can get in top ten on 3rd down efficiency & learn to stop the run. I will be super excited for our direction on defense.

Eberflus is a heck of a DC IMO. Ran the Rex Ryan 3-4 attacking scheme, then converted to the Kiffen/Marinelli Tampa 2 look. He will run that most of the time, but can add some wrinkles for a guy like Micah. I think the guy who could have really set this scheme off is Overshown. He has the freak athletic ability to pull off that Derrick Brooks role. Hoping for a quick return by Agent 0

We will. There is no other outcome for this year other than missing the playoffs or getting bounced. But no one could realistically think this is a SB team this year. It’s about moving in the right direction to me

I'm a Dallas Cowboy football fan. I don't expect the Super Bowl but as a pro football fan, I can't rule out a great season, not before training camp I sure can't. This team has talented players when healthy. They have a coaching staff in my opinion, who finally may get it about this competition brotherhood stuff. Yep...a coach nobody wanted with a clear vision and apparently, a pretty darn good sales pitch. A new coach with a vision about culture who has put together a great coaching staff. A staff just busting with a much to prove attitude themselves. Great draft, active free agency promoting competition all over the field and a huge trade weapon.

What's not to like for a football fan of this team?

I'm just throwing out sensible fan talk on a team fan board....shouldn't have to defend anything, it ain't the eat or be eaten general board.

I'm pumped.

I think most everyone here feels the same about the new staff and high hopes for thee new season. Even your glass half full said 11 wins, vs 9 or 10 from a lot of folks, which is the same ballpark

I thought he took a backseat last year when he sat on his wallet. He spent a little money this year and made a bold move for Pickens. That's their best trade in a long time

Pickens was 100% Jerry. He needed to get out from under the criticism of doing nothing last year and sinking the ship because of it. There was little chance of him not getting his splash move. He made sure everyone knew about it before the draft and as soon as the criticism started up again after the draft he pulled the trigger.
