No question. But he has also had good moments. His book isn't written yet

He was great against TB a couple years back(although they are one of the worst teams to ever make the playoffs), but outside of that he's been below avg. Especially the last 3 losses. 2 of which were at home against lesser teams.

Pickens can make catches look truly superhuman and effortless. Fingers like a gecko.

The only person who can stop him is himself.

Nah, he played an awesome game against the Packers as well. He has been bad lately, but no running game whatsoever.

Agreed. When he's not the focal point, he loses his damned mind...that kind of high/low energy usually does not result in getting the most out of your talents.

It's also interesting to see because he kind of came out of college like that. Usually this is 2nd contract behavior after getting a mega-deal...I guess he's an over-achiever...at least in this area...LOL

When he was a rookie? He was good in that one. If he plays better against the 49ers in both games, Dallas wins IMO. He was the main reason they lost to the 49ers last playoff game.

I wasnt happy with his last couple of playoff games. But I'm not going to discount the rest of his career.
I think the Pickens trade will be huge for this season. Pickens has been catching passes with two TE alignments from Kenny Pickett and Justin Fields, facing double coverage and #1 corners. He will see some #2 corners in Dallas. I'm feeling pretty good

I would feel pretty good as well about this trade if I were a Cowboys fan - Pickens is a good receiver and yeah he goes from being the clear cut #1 receiver in Pittsburgh where teams focused a lot of attention on him because the Steelers didn’t have very good options at receiver besides him, now in Dallas teams won’t zero in on him as much given that the Cowboys have CeeDee who is an elite WR. I think this is a good trade for the Cowboys, obviously who knows how Pickens will affect the locker room or if he’ll behave like a diva but he’s a very talented receiver and I think he’ll fit right into the Cowboys O.

His time in Pittsburgh was purgatory for him, to be fair.

He had no significant help, he was in horizontal and predictable offenses with a clownish parade of nobodies and retreads at QB.

The last two years the #2 WR's on the field with him were Diontae Johnson and then Van Jefferson. It was tough for us to watch, it must have been infuriating to play in.

That's fair. I do think he's an upgrade over who was the #2. Is it enough to win the Super Bowl? My guess is probably not.

But...but ...but that is different. :D

I hope this is nail in the coffin that keeps Rodgers from signing in Pittsburgh.

No, we aren't a Super Bowl team even with him. I think it makes us a playoff team if we stay relatively healthy.
Yeah, I think going from Tolbert to Pickens as a #2 WR is about as big a jump as you can make

I think the 2 biggest questions this trade raises are:

1 - How will Pickens react when he's not the focal point of the targets. That has been a big problem for him, and isn't going to likely change having to share the ball with Lamb.

2 - Can Dak stay healthy. In 3 of the past 5 seasons, he's not made it through. He's entering his 10th season. When healthy, he's shown he's a very capable QB, of course...but it's fair to question his durability a bit here and wonder how that is going to play out this year and then, back to #1 above - what happens when it's not Dak at QB, but then...Grier...or Milton...

Not sure how I feel about this. Pickens might just whine about a contract the Cowboys aren't going to give and end up unhappy. I guess he's got motivation to do well but losing a 3rd for a rental will only feel good if they can make a deep run in the playoffs. I'm not sure if Pickens does that but he's got better potential than many other options. I still think I'd rather have signed Kennan Allen but maybe that wasn't really an option. I guess the main upside is the cap space to sign Pearson's appears to be there.
