That should have been Jim Brown’s Heisman while he was at Syracuse but at that time they had never had a black player win. The following year or maybe two year later Ernie Davis, also of Syracuse won making him the first black Heisman. Disney did a movie about it and I can’t recall the title of the movie.

I think there’s a chance with some borderline Hall of Fame guys but this isn’t likely.

At one time the Eagles had Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and Shady McCoy on the same team.

Only Reid is a shoe in for the Hall and the other 3 guys are fringe shots at making it. If Reid could have sealed the deal in Philly with a Super Bowl or two I think all 4 get in but with no rings for the players in that group it’s unlikely.

I read the newspaper account of when Notre Dame played Pitt in 1956 and the Pittsburgh writers wrote about Hornung is absolute glowing terms which you don't often see for a visiting team's player. He played quarterback, ran the football, punted, placekicked, and made a bunch of tackles on defense as well.

HOF center Jim Ringo blocked for Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor in Green Bay and Ollie Matson in Philadelphia.

Hornung in the HOF is a joke.

He was a running back that never lead his team in rushing.

Najee Harris had a bit of a disappointing rookie contract for Pittsburgh to the point where they let him walk to SanDiego this offseason. In those 4 years he has more yards rushing than Hornung had in his entire career and only a couple hundred less receiving yards.

Hornung was praised for his versatile because he was also the teams kicker. But he was a career UNDER 50% FG kicker.

And the cherry on top is that he should have been banned for life from the sport for betting on football.

And all that got him into the HOF. Ridiculous.
