You know last night I was up going over our picks. I was looking at the miss of a WR with size and by that i mean a 215+ pound 6 foot 3+. Thing is i kept ignoring who and what Arroyo is. I for some reason was so lock into the whole big WR that my mind just didnt say "Well Arroyo isn't a blocking TE and is your big reciever". I think the Hawks kind of went out of the box ( or more like into it ) to get a "bigger body" Pass catcher because he sure as hell isn't a blocker. This isn't a knock on Arroyo, i like the pick.

Lets be real Ewers drop is just as shocking if not more so than Sanders in ways. BEFORE the 2024 season started people were saying he could be a possible #1 pick. End up dropping based off a season that didn't help him to the 7th round. To be honest I would take Ewers for a 7th more than Milroe for a 3rd. I just think that 3rd is to valueble and is a spot you pick a solid "Starter".

Agreed. I've always believed the top 3 rounds should be starters and in our case the Milroe pick was baffling considering Darnold will be here for this season and maybe next season depending on how the season goes.

I mean I still have to give it an F grade (I said I would) but I KIND of get it...

Milroe wont be riding the pine for the entire year, I think he'll be used a lot like Taysom Hill (who Kubiak loves and made it very obvious he wants a version of - if not the guy himself). And Milroe is the kind of character/work ethic guy that will be glad to do it.

So I expect Milroe to be a part of this offense. I mean if you guys hate that (I'm not particularly HIGH on it), it's what it is... but it's what we signed up for when we brought a guy like Kubiak in.

I give it prob. < 5% Milroe works out to ever becoming a real QB. He certainly has the work ethic and not the javelin throw goofball shit that Tebow had to pull it off, but it's a long shot. IF he ever does... I mean you just stole the draft. So maybe that's something. He's not going to be the type of guy to say, "I was tired" and take a play off like basically his clone that went top 5 did (who wasn't as fast)... On that note, how the hell did Richardson ever become a top 5 pick in the first place?

I don't hate it but I'm not doing cartwheels killing my back for joy. I'd would liked to have seen them go o-line again.

Well, very intriguing draft. For the most part I didn't mind the picks. Kinda interesting we might have drafted a TE to move to FB but have to trust the FO. 50-50 on Milroe but I get it if they use him the right way. Solid B for me.

Another interesting note is that the Hawks didn't draft any corners. IMO, they didn't need to but I heard a lot of people saying that this was a need.

Drafting Emmanwori will allow Love to play more free safety and have Bryant play as a 3rd safety/nickel/dime.

I do think this suggests that the Hawks are leaning towards keeping Riq Woolen. Which I think they should do.

I get he had some injury issues, but I was surprised he dropped that far. Guy ran a 4.41 and was basically Colorado State's entire offense in 2022/2023.

Horton I will have to imagine sees playing time this year and snaps. I don't want to get too crazy, but he could easily be the #3... and if God forbid Kupp/JSN gets injured, he'll see the field IMO.

For Mills, there's a backlog at DL at the moment, but he could (again it was an injury that dropped him). I have zero clue why Martinez was still available in the 7th... I had to make sure it wasn't a different Martinez when I took a second glance yesterday evening.

I mean I said before this draft, keep Woolen and maybe trade him post draft (or during it) if some crazy CB talent fell to you. And it sounds like Seattle was already zero'd in on who they took (they 100% wanted Emmanwori, they wanted Zabel, and Arroyo could be the best TE from this draft). So just keep Woolen at this point lol - maybe another year with Mike helps, and if it doesn't whatever - figure out CB next year.

As for Emmanwori, that should be interesting. Rumor is Seattle was trying to trade back to take him in the late first, but just couldn't get him. Frankly I'm THRILLED with how it worked out. He's the highest RAS combine tester for safety in NFL history. He's got some character concerns but he's coming into a PERFECT situation. Not only is Mike a defensive minded coach, but he's in a locker room with Love, D Law, and Reed. There's a TON of leadership on the D side of the ball.. and he's also not top dog in terms of draft pick given Murphy/Witherspoon. So I think the character concerns are going to go away real quick.

I was surprised the Eagles didn't take him (they got their own steal in Campbell, but that's assuming his shoulders and knees don't explode in the next year).

youre telling me they tried not to pick zabel? what a disaster that would have been.

That's the rumor... and I agree it would've been a disaster because Jackson and Simmons flew off the board real quick.

I think Seattle had Zabel #1 on their board (which is obvious because they took him over Emmanwori end of day)... but I think they also underestimated how quick lineman were going this draft. I think they were looking to trade down to accumulate extra stuff and then trade up and have something work out kind of like it did. But if we'd passed on Zabel at 18, I think someone could've taken him before the Vikings who would've absolutely taken him.

End of day things worked out. And again, I don't meet with John Schneider personally, so who the hell knows. Rumors are just that...

But yah, a trade down might have really gone unfavorably for us. Because after Zabel/Jackson the guard prospects SERIOUSLY dropped off.

I mean end of day this was a slam dunk draft by the Hawks. We basically (IMO) got 3 1st rounders, and while I still will give Milroe an F... there's a probably 5% chance I'll be wrong and I'll be very happy about that. I didn't like the Wilson pick either.. I was happily wrong with that. And how we got Horton/Mills in the 5th (or Martinez in the 7th?) is absolutely baffling to me. Some injury issues with Horton/Mills but those guys can be starters in the NFL.

Happy with your draft, fellas?

Ecstatic with the Raiders draft. Carroll and SpyGate, errrrr Spychek or whatever his name is did a pretty good job IMO.

Frankly I think Seattle had one of (if not THE) best drafts in the NFL. We basically got 3 late first rounders, and then some late stuff that can actually be starters (just some injury issues - Horton/Mills).

If we took Wilson over Milroe I'd be collapsing into myself with happiness... that said, I can't be TOO harsh with Milroe because it is the most important position in sports and even if it's a 5% chance he works out... well. He is the true definition of a project QB - all the athleticism, great arm, high work ethic/character.. is that worth a 3rd? I'd say no for basically any position in sports except QB. And for someone saying he's Justin Fields 2.0, no... he's more athletic and has a far higher work ethic/character than Fields. I went into Milroe a bit more because that's really the only pick that stands out to me for Seattle as an eyebrow raise.

For the Raiders, I'm not sure why WalterFootball for one graded it so low (oh wait, until I saw him mention a few times why they weren't drafting Sanders, ugh - wtf was that all about. Dude fuck Sanders). I get Jeanty at 6 is a little much, but the rest of their draft for the most part I liked. It seems very different from what Carroll does, but getting Bech, then stacking the OL... I mean the Raiders are going to be fairly loaded on the offensive side. Bowers, Bech, Jeanty? I mean Smith has to be happy lol. As a Hawks fan I did like and wanted Bech, but we just ran out of picks to get him.

Milroe is the epitome of the high ceiling/low floor player. There is a chance he could be some hybrid of Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson.

I'm not a big college football guy. I watch some Michigan games and that's about it. But from what I've seen and read the big problem with Milroe is decision making. He is a fairly accurate QB. Over the past 2 seasons as a starter he has a 65% completion rate on about 9 yards per attempt.

Decision making issues can be coached. Now if the problem is game processing that is more challenging but that can also be mitigated simply with more playing time.

Will that happen? Who the hell knows? But, IMO, I think that is about the best chance this team has of finding a franchise QB. Honestly, I would have been happy with Milroe in the 2nd but I'm thrilled with Milroe in the late 3rd. It's a risk worth taking.
