I said what I said. He and Tom are close but championships only matter to a degree to me. Colts did Peyton a disservice with how horrible they were at surrounding him with talent.
I agree with that to a certain extent.

But part of what Tom so great is he recognized that and consistently left money on the table for Bill to work roster magic. Peyton was after the "me money" rather than team wins.
Conversely, it is also why BB is the GOAT HC and Dungy is not. Polian gets some blame too.

Oh yeah Marvin Harrison was fucking horrible, and they had a shit run game too

I didn't say there was zero talent outside of Manning, but we saw with Manning down how many wins did they have in 2011? Brady goes down in 2008 and how did the Patriots do without him? Brady is the legend of legends and I have a hard time thinking any QB could match what he did with how the NFL is set up. It was a run that will be talked about still in 100 years from now. I just personally if all QB's in NFL history could be put into a pool and I have the top pick of the draft who am I taking...It would be Manning.

And that is a good point. Helps when your wife makes more money than you to leave money on the table, but still he saw the long-term benefits of making such a choice and that is part of his legend for sure in the NFL.

And I want to state I don't have Manning way above Brady. I have them as 1a and 1b for GOATS of the position. Ask me again in a month and my answer might have them switched.

It's funny how you get a Superbowl win out of the corpse of Manning and become a fan!

Tom did not marry Gisele until 2009 when he was entering his 4th contract. But yeah...that helps!!

Manning before he came to the Broncos fell into that same category as Brady...I hated them because they won so much, but as I grew and matured I finally realized what I was watching was greatness and I should appreciate getting the chance to watch generational talents like Manning and Brady. I grew to respect them and of course then Manning coming to Denver it went from respect to fan in a hurry. I honestly wanted Brady at the end of his career to come to Denver as well. Would have been huge for the organization and Brady showed he could still play at a high level.

He had to one up Manning. Manning was the first to win a (1) Superbowl with two different teams so Brady had to be the first to win Superbowls in both conferences.

There you have it, Manning is the GOAT because he played in Denver. Got it. I guess Elway would be GOAT if Manning had stayed in Indy.

Not what I said but ok. Manning whether he came to Denver or not would be in this place. You can believe otherwise, but I watched Manning tear apart the Broncos like no other QB in history whenever we played him. The two playoff games against the Broncos he had 9 touchdowns to 1 INT and neither game was close. And no my thoughts on Manning are not just based on what he did against the Broncos and then for the Broncos, but those are games that stick out in my mind as it was embarrassing to get torn apart like that in such a big game. I watched Manning produce time after time a top-5 offense every year and having to overcome a bottom-10 defense many years during his time in Indy.

And me talking well about Manning isn't a shot at Brady. I've already said I have them as 1a and 1b in NFL history. We were all blessed to get to watch two of the best to ever play the game face off many times over the years.

Sure, I believe PM turned into BM once the playoffs showed up. 9 times he went One and done. But if that your standard for GOAT, celebrate him.

Your a fool if you have him as 1a,1b or 1 anything. Even Payton would tell you that.

If you hear a knock on your door it's Joe Montana wanting a word about that ranking.

Read the room friend. If you came here to sell ol’ five head, you are probably not getting anywhere here - but maybe in a dome?

I figured this would be the response and I understand it. Brady deserves all the respect in the world for what he did during his career. I just disagree that he is the top QB ever and that is ok. My rankings for players are usually based on if I lined up the greatest of what a player did during their career with another on an individual basis who would come out on top. It is why I have Randy Moss over Jerry Rice for top WR ever. Rice easily had the better career, but peak Randy Moss when he was with the Vikings and then with the Pats is something I have never seen another WR be able to do.

Yeah PM had those "pregnancy hormones" bills he had to keep paying for his wife. Those aren't cheap. He needed the money, you know happy wife happy life.

Manning was great. There's no debating it. But he had huge lapses. 9 times one and done is one of them. He also wasn't the best team leader. Let's not forget the "Let's just say we had some protection issues" comment following a playoff loss. You just don't say that.

You can discount rings all you like, but how you play during the most important games should matter. Down 25 to 3, to a lot of good things to happen for that win. Brady didn't cause the fumble or push the Falcons out of field goal range, however he did throw foe a super bowl record number of yards.

When Manning got down - he sulked.
