Thought the same but I also get the bitching when it is 80% on one team. All they have to do is have the challenge rule and all this shit goes away. Or my idea of just posting the box on the big screen and the ump can change it in a millisecond.

What has always bothered me is that with no immediate video, they will continue the game being wrong. I assume they think they are right when missing the same calls over and over so let them see it so they can correct it then and there.

I agree with the challenge but I'd limit it to 2 challenges. Get both right get a third challenge. Calls shouldn't take long as I figure they would be looking at the same type of box where the pitch crossed.

It took about 5 seconds in spring training. I would give 5 challenges, and you keep each if you get it right. I never understood penalizing a team for getting it right by taking away one of their few challenges. They just flash it on the big screen and done.

I think Manfred should go scorched earth with it. If a batter challenges it and fails, he gets an extra strike. If a pitcher fails the batter gets an extra ball. Instead of putting a cap on challenges put stakes on them.

That would leave us in the same position we are: umps making terrible calls and they just stand. The stakes you propose would lead to zero challenges, unless it was the 3rd strike or 4th ball, already, at which point your proposal is moot, or you would add additional stakes that would neuter the option to challenge.
