So many mistakes here.

1st, defenses work pretty hard to defend the 3 point line today. They actually try to force contested mid range shots. THAT is where defense is loosest and those are the shots easiest to get today.

2nd, they absolutely do work to get to the hoop today.

3rd, show me a team who is just standing around the arc? There is always action occupying potential help defenders. Could be pick and roll action or something else Like a drive and kick. but if you think people are just standing around, it is you that doesn’t get it.

I can agree but sometimes injuries happen when you trade for injury prone guys? Murray and CJ moves were more about name guys than fit, too. Didn't he trade Hart in the CJ move? If so, maybe better to keep him? Looking like maybe should have held onto Dyson Daniels over Murray, too.

I can agree Zion not on him as anyone likely takes him.....but passing on Garland/Hunter who fell in his lap?

Yes, midrange is closer than a three and should be a higher percentage. But the stats you are including here also take into account finishing at the rim which is not midrange. Because at the rim is very high percentage it is considered a good shot, even though worth only 2 points. The midrange percentage is much closer to the three point percentage and is worth fewer points, so it is considered the worst shot in basketball. You have to shoot 50% midrange to equal 33% of threes. Yes, you can finish around the rim at higher than 50%, but you are not going to shoot midrange at 50%.
