Pats and Jags are similar imo. Pats really spent a lot of money to raise the floor of the team but I still dont really see a ceiling. If either team has a way of winning their division its with someone in the draft thats not currently on the roster.
I give the Jags a better chance of winning their division than I give the Pats, because the division is weaker and I could see the Texans falling some as their O-Line looks weak and receiving unit looks thin, and I don’t think the Colts or Titans are good enough to contend for a division crown, so the Jags are in better position than the Pats in that regard. The Bills are still clearly the best team in the AFC East

The one caveat to that is that the Bills had MVP-level Josh Allen last year. If Josh Allen plays at a slightly lower level than maybe the Bills regress a bit but they're so far ahead of the other teams.

Allen is such a top level QB that just having him makes the Bills a good team - he’s one of the 4 best QB in the NFL IMO, the other 3 being Mahomes, Lamar and Burrow. So even if Allen doesn’t have as strong of a season as he did last year he’s such a good QB that he gives the Bills a big advantage over the rest of their division.

or, the Bills improve at WR and Josh is even more effective

I think Jags could but Pats might need Allen to go down to win that division.

Agreed, the Bills are one of the most talented teams so unless the injury bug bites them hard I don’t see them not winning the East.
The AFC South looks like the NFL’s weakest division at the moment so I could see the Jags overtaking the Texans, if the Colts had a decent QB they might be the favorites but their QBs are Richardson/Jones and that’s pathetic, and the Titans just don’t have a strong roster. But who knows, we’ll get a clearer picture after the draft but it’s still a good ways to go - fun to speculate though.

Weird list with lots of different reasons for why guys fell off. Ruggs went to prison, that’s why he fell off, same with Mike Vick, had nothing to do with on field stuff. Guice had legal issues that ended his career as well, Gordon had a ton of drug suspensions, injuries ended Luck’s career prematurely, and Manziel was never any good, he was a bust on par with Ryan Leaf/Jamarcus Russell. So about half of those players never had on the field drop offs, so it’s kind of a strange list.

Yeah it just seems weirdly put together - some guys had drastic drops in production - Gurley comes to mind - others had off the field issues end their careers, and a couple were just busts who didn’t even have a downfall, Manziel being the best example, he had nowhere to fall from in the NFL, he just sucked.

Right no issue with Johnny making any list like this but not sure how he makes it over guys who went 1 or 2 like Russell or Leaf if draft bust gets you on the list....and like you not sure what other criteria there would be for Manziel.

and if Ruggs makes it why not the Carolina WR whose name escapes me who I think was convicted of murder?

My issue is that there should probably be 13 players instead of 11. Modern NFL defenses often run 3 safeties. You probably want a traditional Nose Tackle represented although Aaron Donald as the cocked NT certainly works. Bruce Smith could play anywhere on that line but you're probably seeing him as a 3-4 DE. That said, if we're just going 11 then yeah I think thats the list.
