I think the Pats will be much improved this season - they made big improvements to their D in free agency, they’ll add more talent in the draft, Maye enters year 2, Vrabel is a good coaching hire. I think the Pats will be a lot better. The Raiders should be better as well but that division is so loaded that I don’t know how much will improvement will show in their record. Who knows about the Browns given the uncertainty of their QB situation, they have some talent on D but their O who knows. The Titans have a really weak team, even with a new QB they’ll likely suck. Of course we’ll have a better sense of this after the draft but that’s how I feel about those teams right now.
Niners and Saints probably the most likely imo.
The Saints have a ton of holes on their roster, we’ll see how the draft and the rest of the offseason plays out but as of right now I think there’s a good chance the Saints finish last in the NFC South - that roster is just not that strong. They are nowhere near as good as the Bucs or Falcons and I think the Panthers are improving.Niners and Saints probably the most likely imo.
A couple of injuries or weird things can swing any division, though
I'd agree the most likely scenario is the Saints finishing last. I just remember the first four games last year the Saints demolished Carolina, demolished Dallas, lost to Philly by 3, and lost to Atlanta by 2. The issue with the Saints is that if they get even a couple of injuries then their roster is a mess and thats what happened last year. Thats also what happened to the Niners who according to the chart I saw was the most injured team in football. The Saints have a ton of holes on their roster, we’ll see how the draft and the rest of the offseason plays out but as of right now I think there’s a good chance the Saints finish last in the NFC South - that roster is just not that strong. The Saints just lack star power at most positions and have a very mediocre roster. We’ll see how the draft goes but it’s likely the South is a battle between my Falcons and the Bucs - the Bucs have dominated the division for a few years now but I think we can challenge them for the title if our D improves - we beat the Bucs both times last season, but we collapsed in November. But I’m confident we can contend for a playoff spot this season and I think Penix will be a strong franchise QB for us. But the Bucs should have a very good team once again and it will be a challenge to take the division crown from them.I'd agree the most likely scenario is the Saints finishing last. There was an analytics site that had the Saints as the top team after 4 weeks and then everyone got hurt. I think its natural to see them as having some upside if they were healthy. The Saints just lack star power at most positions and have a very mediocre roster. The Panthers are the team I’m not really sure what to expect from, but I think Young has turned a corner and they looked much better at the end of last season, but I’m not sure how good they’ll be next year.
My Falcons won some close ones and lost some close ones last year - both wins against the Bucs were close, as was our win at home against the Saints and our last minute win in Philly, but we lost some heartbreakers as well - our last 2 games were OT losses against the Commanders and Panthers, we lost close ones at home to the Chiefs and Chargers and the loss to the Saints in New Orleans was close. So we could’ve easily been better but we could’ve lost some more as well. I am excited about this season though, Penix taking over at QB has given me hope for the future, the O did good with him at the helm in the last 3 games and I think he has the potential to be a very good QB. I think our O should be great, we just need to boost our D.There was an analytics site that had the Saints as the top team after 4 weeks and then everyone got hurt. I will say that analytics by the end of the season did have the Bucs as far and away the best team. I actually just did a mock draft on this site with the Bucs and imo its a deep defensive draft that meets most of their needs but their biggest issues are at LB and the draft kinda stinks there.
Falcons point differential was kinda bad last year. Not a sign of a team to look out for but a QB change IS a sign to look out for.
My guess for next year would be Bucs 1 Falcons 2 Saints 3 Panthers 4 but predicting worst to first in general requires a lot to happen.
I think in the AFC the most likely is the Titans if only because of a new QB and Houston might not have an Oline. Raiders I think are frisky, though, because Chiefs point differential was kinda suspect last year and they have a coach now.
Maybe worth pointing out that not 1 team went worst to first last year. It takes a lot for that to happen. Washington would've done it if Philly didn't also do a total 180 with their defense. I just don’t see much upside with the Saints - Carr is an average QB and always has been, they have one real good receiver in Olave but not much else there, Kamara is a pretty good RB but they’re shaky behind him, and the D is just pretty mediocre all around and rather thin in places.
The AFC South is likely going to suck next year, but the Titans have arguably the worst roster in the NFL, even with a new rookie QB who might be good I think they’ll suck. The Colts may suck worse though because of their QB situation. The Texans may fall some but their D is strong enough that they’ll likely win the division if Stroud stays healthy. The Jags are an interesting team, I could see them contending for the division crown given how shaky the division is. But I don’t see the Titans contending for the division title.
I think the Raiders will be a much better team but that division is very good so it will be an uphill battle for them to climb out of the cellar. The Chiefs have been a dynasty, it will be interesting to see if the hangover of losing the Super Bowl affects them any, the Broncos and Chargers are very strong teams as well, I think the Broncos might win the division if the Chiefs fall.
Niners and Saints probably the most likely imo.

I was gonna go with Max Crosby

Dunno. Addison still has 2 years left (and a 5th year option). I get they already are paying Jefferson big money, so do you need too invest in 2 good wideouts (especially with how much they invested in the OL)? That said, why now?
Also they spent a 23rd on him. Buffalo has the 30th - in what many are saying is a bit weaker of a draft class. So what is Buffalo gonna give them the 30th and a 2026 1st or something? Seems like nothing but a rumor and that of course Minnesota will entertain the trade, for something as ridiculous as I pitched above.
If Addison was entering his final year and you didn't want to pick up the 5th year option, I could see it. But not with two years left. And with McCarthy effectively being a rookie QB, you want as much help to develop him as possible.
Seems like one of those 'Madden trades'. The video game somehow let's you have Addison for a 2nd and you're like, "YAH I RULE!" as you pop your 3rd pimple for the day and yell to Mom "When's dinner!?"

Staged photo, lol. Car is worth more than that entire trailer park combined.
agree with pretty much all of that. Stopping Pats of course would be same division as Bills. Kind of same with Browns with Bmore and even Cinci. Do think additions to Pats would make them a contender for this if in, say, one of the South divisions. Browns, too, but for them depends on QB. Just get decent QB play they have a chance. I doubt the Pats can take the division crown, barring something crazy like a lot of injuries the Bills are the clear favorites in the East once again, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see them finish in second place in the division, they may wind up with a better roster than the Fins and Jets. Pats and Jags are similar imo. Pats really spent a lot of money to raise the floor of the team but I still dont really see a ceiling. If either team has a way of winning their division its with someone in the draft thats not currently on the roster.I doubt the Pats can take the division crown, barring something crazy like a lot of injuries the Bills are the clear favorites in the East once again, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see them finish in second place in the division, they may wind up with a better roster than the Fins and Jets. The AFC South may really suck donkey ball this coming season, all of the teams have glaring issues. The Texans will still be the favorites but I wouldn’t count out the Jags particularly if they have a good draft.
