Taveras should almost never start when Smith doesn't have anywhere in the IF to play. I have thought that for a few months now.

Now if Carter comes back as his old self, that is a different story. But still Smith should play at least 5 games a week like Bochy and CY said back in early December.

The most impressive lesser-known Rangers position prospect I saw in Surprise was 3B Rafe Perich. Very good eye, plenty of raw power and plays a good 3B. Switch hitter with double-plus hair. Hit a HR in 2 of the 3 G this weekend. Definitely a kid to watch.
