I’m becoming more and more sure the Browns are going to take Sanders. I’m pretty sure Ward/Sanders go 1-2, then Hunter goes to the G-Men then Carter goes to the Pats.
don't know about what the Gs need but if I could have either and needed both positions I'm taking Carter, I think.

Edge rusher/front 7 is about the only position the G-Men don’t need help at - Burns and Thibodeaux are strong edge rushers. They need help at both receiver and corner which makes me think they take Hunter.

Logically they'd take Hunter over Carter but I dont think a GM can pass on Carter unless its for a QB.

Interesting. I would take Hunter if I were in charge of the G-Men and had to choose between the two, as both receiver and corner are bigger needs for them than edge, but they may choose to take the best player overall, if they believe that to be Carter they’ll take him. I just think the G-Men have so many holes on their roster that they should go somewhere other than the one area they don’t need help at which is the front 7

Needs drafting at the top is tough. I remember when the Rams had #2 and I figured they had to draft Jake Mathews and I think it was shopson who was mentioning that you just have to take Khalil Mack even though the Rams had 2 Edges (Quinn and Long).

Of course, the Rams took Greg Robinson :L but got massively bailed out by drafting Aaron Donald, too.

tl;dr stars play for a long time. Needs are temporary

They appear to be calling around gauging trade interest in current rostered QBs (like Dak).

They should just sign Wentz. I don't know why teams are staying away, unless his demands are stupid.
Wentz is uncoachable. Even after teams quit on him he still hasn’t humbled himself.

None of those guys are viable pass rushers. They might be solid 3rd or 4th edge guys, but they'd have no impact on taking Abdul if the Browns had a QB.

If you think Shedeur is a franchise QB, you have to go that route. I do think Shedeur would be a great fit in Stefanski's offense.

That's the biggest IF at the top of the draft. Hunter and Carter are far safer (and much higher rated) prospects.

Those guys are viable pass rushers. How many teams do you know that have two elite pass rushers? If you're lucky, you have a great one and a good one. The presence of the great one usually elevates the good. one. Also, pass rushers and coverage need to work hand in hand. Pass rush is rarely going to have an impact if targets are open early. Sanders' tendency to hold the ball too long is a scary proposition as he moves up a level.

My opinion (for what little that's worth) is make a move up for Ward or take Hunter (and sign Wentz or Tannehill).

are they far safer simply because it seems like better chance a QB at top of draft does not work out compared to DB/DE?

Or are they far safer because ESPN, fans and fake GMs say so?

If not Wentz, Tannehill?
Forgot about Tanny.....could still go Flacco or deal for Cousins. Though guess is Cousins waits until after draft as doubt he wants to go to a team who likely plays a rookie QB again.

Yes, yes, and more. If Sanders goes top 5 it's reaching out of need.
