There are quite a few pitchers that have had decent careers with so so velocity, so to me velocity isn't the end all to be all...

It is if you haven't adapted to that and hit your spots and based on his results that wasn't happening. Not saying it couldn't happen. Colby Lewis didn't have high velocity but he knew how to pitch and not just throw.

Marc Church, pitching on back to back days here at the backfields shoves again. FB was 97-98 with about 17” of IVB and the SL missed bats. Snapped a couple CHs too. Quick inning, and if he does that for Round Rock, he could be in Arlington by the end of the first month.

The leverage trio of lefty Robert Garcia, Luke Jackson and Chris Martin combined to pitch three perfect innings against Seattle. For the spring, the numbers pop: They have allowed one run in 15 innings of work, struck out 13 and allowed just nine base runners. Their ERA and WHIP are identical: 0.600. Astonishing.

Osuna isn’t likely to make the club, but he’s continued to extend his time in big league camp and has probably raised his stock significantly in the Rangers’ organization. He could be viewed as a potential injury reinforcement if an outfielder goes down or could give the Rangers leverage to trade, perhaps Leody Taveras, to save money and add pitching. They seem to be confident that by the middle of this season, if not earlier, Osuna could be ready to help the big league club.
