UPDATE

Cooper Kupp made no bones about what he's looking for.

$15M a year from a team where he's decided is a best fit.

Anyone else has to pony up.

NE was not in his best fits list. Supposedly the Patriots' brain trust doesn't want to pony up. Kupp was due to make nearly $20M this year with his Rams contract. No one would make the trade. If the Broncos decide to pay his asking price, they will be left with about $11M for anyone they want or need and to pay for their draft choices. They also have 24 open spots on the roster to reach the 90 bodies required for training camp.

As of this morning, the Patriots have $101M remaining to spend. Don't ask me, this number is from "Over the Cap". If ths is true, Vrable should be stepping up the heat and offering Kupp $18M or $a two year $36M fully guaranteed deal. If he can stay healthy for 17 games, it'll be a bargain.

Kupp has agreed to sign a three year deal with the Seahawks, returning home to Washington.

He got what he wanted 3 years/$45M

Patriots sign 8 year veteran guard Wes Schweitzer.
Depth addition who had 1 holding call in 2 years with the Jets.
He can play left or right guard or center.
Don't know much about the guy but Center seem logical at this point

Just about everyone except the Vikings took the weekend off. Hopefully, someone took the time to access the remaining free agents and the staff and front office will make a decision whether or not any of them can be a benefit to this year's team.

The staff may have plans for the draft, but this year, not a single plan has worked in their favor. Bad planning or bad luck? Doesn't matter. There is a severe weakness for the third year in a row at the LT position and it has not been addressed. A draft pick "might" be able to move in and handle the position, but one has to be realistic and not be willing to settle on another year of Vedarian Lowe.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.

What? What are you saying when you state " Not a single plan has worked in their favor"? Are you referring to the Pats staff?

BK should be hired for AI work. I just asked a well respected AI model to "say something stupid", but BK has it beat.

I'm referring to every WR and LT that they planned to try for........................

Even Vrabel has said that they have to "pivot" and still haven't been able to land one.

Every report that's come out has said that they offered more or most and that plan didn't work.

So now argue that they were successful as all hell because they signed everyone on their planning board.

I don't think I'm as negative as you all "think" I am, try looking in the mirror.

Okay so if they offered more or most than others and the player did not want to come here cool, we have draft power. We can damn sure land decent

T
WR
IOL

In this draft. I get why WRs may not want to come here, no O line, New Coach, 2nd year QB, Cold Weather. But rookies mehh they have to prove their meddle so they really have little choice.

Let's just admit that the Patriots have a bunch of things working against them right now.

Bad team last few years, cold weather late Nov. to the end of the season, taxes. Some of it is just pussy players that they shouldn't want if they start whining about cold weather or taxes. Team is willing to pay higher to offset the taxes. Playing in a losing environment is arguable with the new head coach. So, in my opinion, it's been more about what and where a player wants to play and most of them have gone where they wanted to go.

New England doesn't have the star luster of LA or LV or the 'psych of NYC. But all of that stuff doesn't make any of them any better than NE to raise a family. So it can be argued any way that you want. It all comes down to personal preference in this day and age.

I do not agree with this at all. In fact, I think just the opposite is true. There is more promise this year, with this coaching staff and draft power we are in a pretty damn good position. Last year everything was wrong with last year and it started with RK. Mayo was not ready to coach, we had a DC for our OC, no line etc etc etc.

Also Boutte started playing good ball, we just signed Hollins a nice addition, Maye will be in year two with a real OC Polk is working to get better, admitted he needed an adjustment. Defense will be a lot better, hell I think we are in good shape

I hate to say this because I know it's not who or how you are. But you are really coming off like a fair-weather fan of late, it's getting frustrating dealing with your consistent negativity. Contrary to what some posters may say you often provide viable, important information just seems lately that you can't see anything right in what this team is doing

Same can be said of many NFL cities if you take away a star player or head coach and that winning culture.
Kansas City ?
Minneapolis ?
Phoenix, Cleveland, Buffalo, Baltimore, Cinci, Indy, Pittsburgh,? Even DC, Philly, Green Bay.

I've said it a few times.
I think the WR's we have will; perform a little better this year as far as route running and having confidence/chemistry with Maye.
I also think regardless of who we draft for the Oline, improvements will be made and Doug Maronne will be a big one.
The Offense will play better as a whole and the WR's that are already on the squad will look better and put up better stats.
