John Frusciante (55 candles) - I know this is a cover, but it's a darn good cover.

Every time I see stuff like this when it comes to David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Warren Zevon to say a few with their "last songs".

I always go back to Warren Zevon
and honestly, Eddie Vedder did an amazing cover.

On this day in 1994 Soundgarden released their breakthrough album, Superunknown. It had more melodic and accessible songs to appeal to a wider audience, but the title track showed that Kim Thayill could still lay out the crunchy lead guitar.

And of course, it included this gem:

I always felt that Soundgarden should have been the standard bearer for the Seattle Sound. Batmotorfinger was an unreal album.
