That price says they didn't even try to sign him.

On the plus side Rodgers looks like he will be a steeler

All things considered it could of been much worse, Just thinking of the Seahawks signing Rodgers for example made me want to puke. Cost wise seems OK again considering contracts being handed out.

ALL dependent on the contract. I'm hearing it's a $50M guaranteed contract, so you just move on from him after this year if it doesn't work out. It's a whatever acquisition. I don't get why the Internet is freaking out about this.

$35M or so but with LOW guaranteed and a low commitment? Yah, this makes sense. Seattle wants a bridge QB and that's what you got. Let's await the Geno $180M/4yr contract lmao...

I'm heavily annoyed with how social media is reacting to this.

We don't have to reach on a QB at 18 now that's a big relief.
Still very doubtful to me that they do much of anything to fix the OL. I hope I'm wrong

I am amazed by the negative reaction by Seattle fans...

You got a QB that is reportedly going to cost $33M a year... (what we wanted), only has $50M guaranteed (so cut him in 2026 if it doesn't work), got a 3rd round pick in return, roll over cap space... doesn't force us to take a QB in round 1 but every QB in this draft is basically a development prospect...

WTF is wrong with you guys? You still have TONS of cap to acquire players at the OL... while also having 5 draft picks in the first 3 rounds to build up the OL/TE/WR group... JSN is not Jefferson, but he's in a somewhat similar realm.

I don't get it... If the guaranteed is only $50M, I'll give this an A all day... Let's not forget the Vikings D completely disappeared when it counted. Darnold is not going to be a take over game QB, but thankfully we have a defensive coach who can manage that.

Whatever. I don't get the hate for this pick at all.

I'm not a huge fan of the move but it's also not terrible. We are giving big money to Sam based on one year.

But I guess we will see how things shake out in FA. I'll reserve judgment until we know who else we are bringing in.

Its not really that big though in comparison, don't think he is even top 10 highest paid QBs.
I tHink its a win win for fans, if he plays like last year this is a playoff team. If he sucks the team gets blown up and we draft a qb top 5 next year.

Where you getting your news? Looking around at Seahawks sites the reaction I'm seeing and hearing is relief.

Eh just mostly YouTube. Just general comments saying "NO" or dismissing it. I'm not going to any major news site to get some reporters' reaction to things. Just general Internet comments.

I am also seeing relief. I don't get the upset about this at all. 3 years $100M? If it's really $50M guaranteed, so? Just release him in 2026 and draft a QB anyway, lol. Meanwhile the solution was keep Geno and give him some $180M/$100M guaranteed contract? For the same type of player but 6-7 years older? WTF?

Whatever. I love the signing. Walt Football gave it a C. I get it. I'll give this an A all day. Now we can spend all this draft capital elsewhere, or take a QB and let him sit (which frankly almost EVERY single one of the QBs in this draft maybe outside of Sanders, need to do).

I've yet to see the formal contract details, but you're NOT giving big money for a QB. $35M or so per year? And if only half is guaranteed, you just release him after this year, lol... big money. You just saw Josh Allen sign a contract for nearly DOUBLE the size, right? With almost 75% guaranteed?

Look if it comes out and Darnold's entire contract is guaranteed, I'll backtrack big time.

Big money? Not really. Not for a vet starter. Vikings won 14 games with him as the starter. To me this is the best case scenario( signing Darnold)

Well I hope it works out. But I don't rate him to be all that good but we will see.
